Wasserman Boxing’s 2023 schedule gets underway with two free-to-air events, broadcast live and exclusive on Channel 5 in association with Infinitum Entertainment.

Manchester boxer Lyndon Arthur (21-1, 15 KOs) lands a world title fight against Argentina’s Braian Nahuel Suarez (18-1, 17 KOs) on Friday March 24 at the University of Bolton Stadium, live and free on Channel 5.

The former WBO Intercontinental and Commonwealth champion can become the first Englishman to claim the IBO World light heavyweight title, and join a list of champions to have held the belt including Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr.

‘King’ Arthur gets his shot at world title glory following back-to-back stoppage wins. The 31-year-old scored a sixth-round TKO victory over Walter Gabriel Sequeira in September before defeating domestic rival Joel McIntyre in spectacular fashion inside the second round of their December bout.

Harlem Eubank (16-0, 6 KOs) continues his climb up the super lightweight rankings as he takes on Christian Uruzquieta (21-5-2, 8 KOs) on Friday March 31.

Eubank, the nephew of former two-weight world champion Chris Eubank, will be looking to establish himself as the latest star from his famous fighting family when he returns to London’s legendary York Hall for another headline bout.

The 28-year-old is ready to begin his pursuit of title opportunities but knows he must first overcome tough opposition in the form of Mexico’s Uruzquieta, who will be looking to derail the Brighton man’s promising career and add a huge scalp to his record.

Harlem Eubank vs Christian Uruzquieta full fight card announced

Fans can look forward to an unbelievable night of action when Harlem Eubank (16-0, 6 KOs) returns to London’s iconic York Hall on Friday March 31 as the Brighton man looks to continue his climb up the Super Lightweight rankings against Mexico’s Christian Uruzquieta (21-5, 8 KOs), live and free on Channel 5 in association with Infinitum Entertainment.

A stacked undercard at the legendary East End venue features a fifty-fifty English Cruiserweight Title bout, a highlight reel heavyweight, two huge German names plus a host of local talent.

Former Southern Area Cruiserweight Champion, ‘Nightmare’ Nick Parpa (10-1, 6 KOs) will take on Middlesbrough’s undefeated Michael Webster (7-0, 5 KOs) in an eagerly anticipated English Cruiserweight Championship clash.

Parpa will be looking to pick up where he left off with a win after ending things in the first round against Nicolas Holcapfel in May 2023. Webster set up his British Title opportunity by putting Erdogan Kadrija down twice in the third round to claim a stoppage win in a one-sided contest at the Newcastle Arena.

Rising Heavyweight star Matty Harris (4-0, 3 KOs) returns to face Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Milos Veletic (2-2, 1 KO). 23-year-old Harris will look to build off the back of his three consecutive first-round finishes in his last three outings, with his most recent win coming against Jiri Surmaj on the undercard of Eubank Jr vs. Smith on January 21 in Manchester.

The IBO Continental Super Welterweight champion Abass Baraou (12-1, 8 KOs) will hope to make his York Hall debut, and second fight in Britain, a memorable one as he returns having been out of the ring since March 2022. A statement win could see one of Germany’s hottest prospects continue to close the gap between himself and the top ten Super Welterweights.

Another exciting German fighter joins the card in the form of undefeated featherweight Sophie Alisch (8-0, 1 KO), who will have to look for maturity beyond her 21 years as she faces the hugely experienced Bec Connolly over six rounds. Alisch will be eager to stamp her authority against a fighter like Connolly, who has shared the ring with the likes of Natasha Jonas and Ebanie Bridges.

Jesse Brandon (1-0) will be hoping to bring a similar jubilant crowd that supported him at York Hall in his last Super Lightweight outing in another four- round fight at the historic venue. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Brandon will be Codie Smith, who makes his professional debut at Featherweight against Italy’s Luca Genovese (4-19-5) in a four-round contest.

The historic York Hall hosts an unbelievable night of free-to-air action, headlined by Harlem Eubank as he faces off against Christian Uruzquieta on Friday March 31 live on Channel 5, in association with Infinitum Entertainment.

Their Channel 5 shows are not as good as Hennessy’s and Kalle’s involvement in Misfits is horrific….

I don't think he is. Why would you think that, because of me? I would put money on him not been. Hare coursing in rural East Yorkshire is not unusual. He's not from Hull.

Harlem Eubank will use his headlining slot on Wasserman Boxing’s second action-packed show in a week to make a statement about his title intentions for the year.

Live and free-to-air on Channel 5 from 10pm on Friday, the unbeaten Eubank returns to York Hall to take on Mexican hardman Christian Uruzquieta over 10 rounds and aims to set up a shot at the British title next.

Wasserman Boxing, in association with Ladbrokes, Numan and Infinitum Entertainment, have put together a card that is, pound-for-pound, as talent-crammed as any you will see anywhere, and it comes straight off the back of their sold-out show in Bolton last week, with 1.5m people tuning in to watch on Channel 5.

Super lightweight star Eubank tops this week's event that also sees the return of the destructive Matty Harris, one Britain’s most fearsome heavyweight prospects, who has blasted his way through his last three opponents in the first round. Harris expects to add to his highlight reel of knockouts, when trading punches with Milos Veletic, in a fight that nobody thinks will go the six-round distance.

There also a tasty looking title tussle between Harry Scarff and Jordan Dujon on Friday’s show. It’s Derby vs Barnet as Scarff and Dujon battle for the WBO European super welterweight belt.

Germany’s world-rated super welterweight Abass Baraou fights for a second time in the UK, at York Hall on Friday night, in an eight-round dust-up with Ferenc Katona.

You don’t want to miss the British debut of Baraou’s compatriot, Sophie Alisch, the fearsome featherweight, who is being primed for world honours. Alisch takes on the seasoned Bec Connolly, who has tested a string of emerging fighters in recent years including Skye Nicolson and Ebanie Bridges, and so Germany’s Sophie will aim to lay down a marker as she looks to take her career to the next level.

Make sure to keep an eye on Finchley’s Jesse Brandon, a protégé of Anthony Joshua, and a super lightweight with a massive future. Brandon made his debut at York Hall in November and returns to the spiritual home of British boxing this week to tackle Spain’s Borja Lopez over four rounds.

There’s a buzz around the professional journey of Codie Smith, which starts this week with Wasserman Boxing. Smith boxed for England and Great Britain on the international amateur stage, but now turns his attention to the pro ranks and a four round featherweight fight with Luca Genovese on Friday night.

There is also a pro debut for Jurrell Patterson and a heavyweight outing for Peter Belberov.

Kalle Sauerland says Harlem Eubank will be given the chance to prove his credentials as one of the “hot prospects” of British boxing, this year.

The unbeaten super lightweight makes his highly anticipated return to the ring at York Hall on Friday, live and free-to-air on Channel 5 from 10pm.

Eubank headlines the Wasserman Boxing show, in association with Ladbrokes, Numan and Infinitum Entertainment, and plans on making a statement in front of a huge TV audience.

Sauerland has promised that the 16-0 Eubank will be moved through the levels throughout the year and would love to match the Brighton man with Newcastle’s world-ranked Lewis Ritson next.

British fight fans are also excited about the prospect of a title showdown with Dalton Smith, and Sauerland believes 2023 will be a breakthrough year for Eubank.

Head of Wasserman Boxing Global, Kalle Sauerland said: “We want to present new challenges for Harlem this year.

“Harlem is on the best possible platform for a young guy to be built on, live on Channel 5. He will have eyeballs on him, which brings extra pressure, but it will help in very big fights.

“Harlem has a tough fight in front of him on Friday night and he will be facing different types of opponents this year. People are projecting that Harlem Eubank is one of the hot prospects of British boxing, but he’s got to go through that fire in the ring. The good thing for Harlem is he’s doing it in front of millions of people.”

“Dalton Smith is a talked about talent, like Harlem, and if that is ordered, we won’t shy away from it. But as a promoter I think we need to build both guys a bit more, for them to maximise that fight.”

Harlem Eubank faces a late change of opponent in the headline slot at York Hall tomorrow night after illness ruled Christian Uruzquieta out of action.

The Mexican fighter arrived in London earlier this week but began feeling unwell and, today, has been deemed unfit to fight on Friday evening.

Stepping into the breach to face 16-0 Eubank, is Argentinean Miguel Antin who is seasoned, well-travelled and holds no fear about fighting away from home.

Eubank tops a Wasserman Boxing card at the spiritual home of British boxing, with heavyweight bulldozer ‘Magic’ Matty Harris and German stars Abass Baraou and Sophie Alisch part of the undercard.

Wasserman Head of Global Boxing, Kalle Sauerland says Eubank is one of the “hot prospects” of British boxing, but the 29-year-old must first deal with ‘El Gato’, the hugely experienced late substitute.

The unbeaten Harlem Eubank said: “Friday night’s opponent may have changed, but my mission remains the same: put on a performance and make a statement in front of a huge TV audience on Channel 5.

“Antin is coming in at short notice, he has nothing to lose and that makes him extremely dangerous.

“But the way I’m feeling, and the way I’ve been training, I plan on dispatching him in good fashion to set up a massive 2023.

“Like the British fight fans, I am excited about the potential match-ups that are out there for me. They will happen and I am looking forward to them but, first, my focus is on Antin.”

29 is no spring chicken in the lighter weights, 16 fights and no British title, no belts of any type. Seems they are using the Connor Benn model for nepotism "name" boxers- keep them winning, keep them safe, promote the sh*t out of them, then sit back and count the cash..
