Well that was a shitty ending , Ponce quits on his stool after the 5th, he'd just got dropped at the end of the round , left hook by Matias stiffened his legs and the he was down from the follow up, still strange ending , Ponce started off electric, Matias looked a bit shell shocked by the sheer volume, punches from both hands coming from all angles to head and body, Matias rocked Ponce with a few left hooks at end of 2nd to show he was dangerous and tbh although I gave Ponce 3 and 4, I knew by the length of the link this wasn't a distance fight and I suspected it would be Matias who would end it and sure enough he put Ponce down at end of the 5th, didn't look like Ponce was done though, it was a surprise to see him bail out like that, poor, very UnMexican

was a very good fight for the most part..........ponce with the insane workrate, matias with more power and a bit neater in his work

............but man that ending was a bit of a letdown. from an up for grabs barnburner to corner retirement in like 30 seconds

the mexicans dont have to answer for ponce, since he is an argie

btw, subriel's a great example of why to give a fighter another chance

top rank dropped him immediately after his first loss, then within his 4 fights since he's beaten 3 undefeated opponents, scored a ko over the one guy to beat him, and won a title.

elvis rodriguez, who also won on the card, had been dropped by top rank after his first loss as well. every other fight he'd looked the money, but one loss and he was out the door. since then he's been on pbc cards and ko'd a prospect and then of course won other night too
