I've been following Arias since his debut and despite lacking the height of a modern heavyweight, he's got plenty of skills. I know he's been brought in to lose, but you never know. Anderson is very good.

A nice matchup. Boxing needs more like this.

Arias is decent, but not really special. He has some technique, but he needs to be more agile. Also, it seems like he lacks stamina.

Anderson has been better by the eye test. He seems to be faster and more fluid.

I'd pick Jah to win.

arias isnt a can, but our man jah is just something else. i like a beatdown, maybe around 5-6 rounds if arias can take a shot

Anderson is taller, longer, and hits harder; but Arias is about 5 times as fast and more skilled. I would not assume that Anderson is too much of a favorite. It's definitely a very polar styles match-up, though. They'll each have trouble landing on each other, as Anderson is too long for Arias to hit, and Arias has very frenetic waist / head movement like Mike Tyson.

Good enough fight, just dont see why he needed a 5 month break after his last one.

Anderson has fought less than 10 rounds in the last 2 years. thats just not good enough. If your true blue chip, and you chin someone in 5 mins, then your poromoter should be putting you on a card in 8 weeks time.

Assuming he wins this it should be rice next. then if he wins that big baby vs big baby....

Anderson is untested but he has shown the ability to land and has power. If he is anything close to a top prospect he should win here.

Another easy pickings fight for Anderson, should be over by round 6 latest.

Agreed.

Jared "The Real Big Baby" Anderson (13-0, 13 KO's) looked like a top heavyweight when he dismantled Jerry Forrest in under 2 rounds last December. Arias (who hasn't scored a KO win in his last 6 outings) can't hurt Anderson.

I'm thinking it'll be a brutal beating to the body.

You obviously did not see Arias in his last 2 fights. The Chaney fight was 8-2 or 9-1 according to most that saw it. Chaney was an undefeated prospect.
Arias had a tougher outing against the also undefeated Alante Greene. But won 77-75 in my opinion.
Arias has a solid chin good head movement but zero power.
Anderson is not going to steam roll Arias. Anderson will win but he will be given several rounds

Arias tries to move his head and body, but he remains stationary and still takes punches on himself. It'll be a target practise for Jah, who switches angles in a much better fashion and has a greater speed.

Its a good fight, but its one of those fights where no matter what the result it may not tell us anything...

-If anderson steamrolls him in a round, people will say Arias is sh!t...
-If its compeditive people will say arias is good...
-I guess if he loses that says somthing, but thats unlikely.

Thats kinda why id rather see him in with rice or takem.

I've got the nagging feeling that Anderson maybe another Michael Grant type. Put him in with somebody who really tests his chin.

I don't. We've seen him take good shots on the chin (which is one of his persistent issues, defense).

He is a bit tricky, tucks up small and throws wild shots a little bit like Mike Tyson, but without any of the power.

5'11" yes that's modern SMW/MW.
It would be better if he had real power, but he doesn't seem to.
He does move his head and upper body.
I don't mind this fight. I believe Arias will be at least motivated to win.
If you were preparing Anderson for an eventual matchup with Richard Torrez, this is a step in that direction.

anderson is the opposite of michael grant, in that anderson is super comfortable in the ring and started the sport as a kid. while grant is one of these converted athletes who was stiff and never fully relaxed in there, even vs overmatched opponents

We are yet to see if Anderson's chin will let him down against a puncher, like Grant's did.

true, true though can say the same about pretty much any prospect and even lots of contenders until they fight a world class hitter. many guys win a world title and make plenty of defenses before they even face a genuine banger

A new "Floyd Patterson" would be more like it, with Arias.
I Like his lunging left hooks. No sarcasm on that. His Overall Style Could actually win him some fairly big fights.
He wouldn't be able to do diddly squat versus Fury, Wilder, or even Versus Joe Joyce.
He's simply too little for the Gigantic Heavyweights, and Obviously doesn't have nearly anywhere near the Power that Mike Tyson had. With that said, like I stated, he Could still provide some good entertaining scraps. He's Actually the proverbial example of my point about needing to have the CW division be of a higher weight-range.

I've stated that CW should go up to 205, but I think that my opinion has changed, just a tad bit, especially after watching this rather entertaining looking boxer Arias. I'd now say that CW, that is Regular Standard CW Should be 191-210. I've also stated my opinion about Pro Boxing Needing to implement a Jr CW division. It'd be the weight range of 176-190, just as standard CW originally was, when initially implemented back in 1979. Also of note, I actually remember there being A Super Cruiserweight division which was implemented back in the late 80's. It only lasted Very briefly, obviously. But I do distinctly remember them referring to one particular bout as such(Super CW), and to what I can recollect, Evander Holyfield was actually in a televised Super CW bout, back in 1989 or so.

So going back to Arias, yes he's around 220 I take it, but obviously he could very easily get down to 210 if they were to re-implement/re-vamp the CW division. This would certainly make things extremely interesting. All kinds of very interesting bouts could be made. Arias would have A Very Decent chance at being a Champion in that revamped weight division version of Cruiserweight. 191-210, instead of the current 176-200 weight-range. I'm going to watch highlights of Jared Anderson, because he looks like an interesting HW prospect in his own right. One thing I Do know about this upcoming bout is that Anderson is 6'4 to Arias's rather diminutive 5'11 height. I'm sure the reach difference will be at least equally contrastive.
Arias doesn't seem to have long arms for a 5'11 boxer.

Anderson isn't the real deal yet, but will be. Needs to get knocked on his ass a time or two so he tightens up his defense and gets less sloppy. I think he's top 10 now if he gets the chance to proove it.
