Mike Weaver vs. Orlin Norris

12 or 15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout
Either Weaver cut Norris off the ring or corner with jabs and body punches along with good head punches to take a decision or would Norris outbox Weaver behind his jabs and long range counter combinations to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Good fight. Norris by decision.

Norris was able to win only the declined versions of good fighters. Weaver was inconsistent, but still his wins over Coetzee and Tate tell more for him. Probably he would bang Norris out at some point.

I agree with Duke on this one.

Assuming both guys fight their best and meet during their respective primes, Weaver would win easily, probably by decision. Mike's left jab puts him on top in most rounds.
The best Norris could do is survive, which he'd do efficiently. For this reason the fight goes the full distance.
In analyzing this bout, people need to keep in mind that Weaver was much more than a heavily muscled banger. Weaver could also box. Check out his Coetzee bout. You'll notice that even though Coetzee's supposed to be the superior boxer (particularly at center ring), it's Weaver who seems to have superior speed, agility, and bounciness.
To summarize my point, Weaver's boxing ability makes the difference here. Norris was slick, but not slick enough to neutralize Weaver's jab.
Finally, as we already know, if Norris tries to punch with the bigger, stronger, Weaver, then Mike wins by KO.
