mmmm..... I am wondering if history will repeat itself.

Last season, Fernando Morientes broke the hearts of Madrid by scoring the winning goal whilst on loan for Monaco vs his then club Real Madrid.

With Chelsea and Milan through to the semi's, look who is doing the business for Milan. Yes, Herman Crespo is still a Chelsea player officially.

I wonder if he is eligable to play against Chelsea.

Chelsea is also my favourite for the cup. they have the best team though their coach is an asshole.....

I have absolutely no affinity with Chelsea at all - perhaps the most soulless club ever, run by a man who has stolen from his whole nation.

However, a ridiculous 'patriotism' got me last night (how can one be patriotic over a team full of foreigners?) and I was cheering them on.

Of the thousands of matches I've seen, their win against Barca last night is one of the best - for quality and commitment. Fantastic stuff.

I think it will be very interesting once the new Fifa ruling regarding the number of foreign players allowed in a team come into effect.

And yes, Roman is a bloody crook, the man is basically funding the chelsea team off the backs of all the Russian oil workers whose shares he bout for peanuts, it's an absolute scandal, probably the single biggest act of embezzlement in history.

I have a sneaking fondness for Chelsea ( apart from when Rotherham played them in the early 80's and twatted them 6-0 and 1-4 which was one of my best moments of being a Mighty Miller ) and this has increased since Jose has been around

Anyone who can outwind up Ferguson and Wenger has got to be good value and he had Rjikard's composure all over the place last night. he is an arrogant SOB, but I think he is one of the best things to happen to an increasingly stale Premiership in eons

As for it being a team of foreigners. Weren't three of the goals scored by brits?

Fantastic performance from Chelsea last night.

I wouldn't say a team with Terry and Lampard in it lacks soul. I see what you are getting at with the money buying everything but (cliche time) it can't buy the level of commitment you saw last night (and referred to)

And Jose Mourinho is great - I love his style and attitude. I struggle to see why people dislike the guy - pure charisma!

I am not a Chelsea supporter but I support all British teams in European competitions.

Stop trying to be a picky fornicator, Slapsie! You know what I meant...though just in case you didn't, I was alluding to the fact that patriotism is a strange reason for following a Premiership club in Europe these days. Unless you are French and follow Arsenal, etc.

I think there is a distinction between team and club. The club are soulless. The team are full of commitment (or were last night). Joe Cole was outstanding. In fact, everyone was great - except Glen Johnson.

The club are a money laundering machine for Roman, no wonder they're soulless.

18 year old kids fighting civil war in checnya in the russian army dont get paid for months on end, whilst Roman makes millions of pounds of what should be government money....

It was a superb match but I don’t particularly harbour much fondness for Chelsea, essentially a mediocre club punching well above their weight off the back of the resources of 2 sugar daddies.

If Abramovich left and they got relegated they would be back playing Burnley in front of 12,000 while the rest of their ‘fans’ go back to answering they ‘don’t really follow football’ (which most did until Matthew Harding came along) when asked who their team is.

Actually wasn't being picky. Or at least not trying to. Just recognising that the Brits were in quorum last night and played well. JM seems to want to keep a decent backbone of homegrowns in the team and it is good to see some of the ones, like Cole and Johnson coming through after a while on the bench

That being said. Give me a Div 1 or Championship or whatever the fornicate they call it , any day

Yes I agree with the distinction. Joe Cole was indeed excellent - he is one of my favourite players and I hope Tottenham sign him if ever Chelsea decide to sell him.

Abramovich is as crooked as they come. Agree with Goz once he gets bored or busted all the 'new' Chelsea fans will disappear again as they do a Leeds.
