Really impressive stoppage by Anderson.
Arias was too small and didn't seem to be able to get any combinations off although he tried some big single shots.
Anderson was just too big
He's definitely one of the potential super stars
But what route will he take now? The division is fairly messy atm

next he should fight a dude like efe, the other big baby, pulev, or ali demi
the talent looks elite and very few hws over the last years have shown this package - fighting effectively from different stances, the body punching, the reflexes, being totally at ease in the ring, with power and jabs and speed. this is not just some big athletic dude who converted to boxing late. Time to push him harder because he's winning so easily and obviously well above the level he's fought
top rank could have a big star here and should be willing to spend more to get him the best opponents possible for his development

I think he has a decent chance against any top 10 heavyweight. Time for a real test.

yes he looked good, surprised he’s only gone from #32 to #29 in box rec rankings

Anderson completely dominated Arias, he has passed this level easily and should try a top-15 opponent.

looking strong for sure !
But against what exactly .. a guy who was out of shape and offered little in return .
He needs to step up to better levels or stop the trash talk about being the worlds best .

Top Rank's heavyweight roster is Yoka, Shaw, Kean, Conto, Vianello, Ajagba, Fury, Knyba, Makhmudov and Mireles. He's probably already beyond most of them but think they should be looking at Ajagba of those. Other reasonable options could be Pulev, Ortiz, Wallin, Demirezen, Takam, Miller, Chisora. I don't think any big names will be gambling themselves against him unless they have to or are paid well for it.

They are moving him too cautiously IMO.
Fights like this last one do him no favours in developing defence, fighting guys 6"+ etc.
It's basically treading water.
Too much of it and he learns nothing, may even stagnante or go backwards.

If you missed the fight, here is a 4 min highlights package :
Pretty one sided beat down.

I think they've been bringing him along just fine. He just turned 23 and probably now is the right time for a true test.

I think his opponent progression is fine, he just doesn’t fight often enough. If you chinning guys in a couple of rounds without being hit as a prospect you should be fighting again in 8 weeks max

Is the Real Big Baby ready for the Big Baby? Anderson vs Miller?

Well, it's Miller whose preparation is questionable.

Yeah, Miller is a beach ball but he has more experience including all the Klitschko sparring.
I fancy Anderson to beat all the fat out of the blob, who had competetive bouts vs Bracomonte and Browne.
Domestically I'd put Anderson in with Rice, Bryan, Martin, Shaw, maybe Miller. Internationally, Browne or Helenius.

rice: love jonny, but jah needs a better opponent now. jonny would be a good test for someone like kynaba though.
bryan: too easy, another arias level guy coming off a ko loss
miller: good fight, battle of big babies, anderson having to deal with an iron chin and pressure
martin: martin is decent when he's on, but can be flakey. id say okay fight though, chuck was bouncing ortiz off the canvas
shaw: after shaw stunk it vs efe i'd hope they'd look higher for jah, as in efe himself. jah was just in with a survival focused opponent, doesnt need another straight away
browne: brutal early ko win for jah, too much of a pushover and i'd be worried for browne's health
helenius: would've been a good fight for jah, but coming off helly's wilder loss it's not going to add to the hype train
one big baby is enough, they gotta make anderson vs miller, loser drops the name. miller's nickname should be something like 'mak truck' or 'dump truck' anyway

Miller, Pulev, Ajagba, Shaw, Demirezen would all be acceptable next I think. I think of those I'd probably prefer Ajagba but think it will be Pulev. Martin's a reasonable shout as well.

I think Anderson vs Ajagba would be perfect.

I think at his age he just needs lots of fights rather than one particular fight.
Any one of them in any order and if you win without getting hurt to the head or hands then book the next one for a few months time. Some of those names are probably fairly expensive, but you got the next big thing at heavyweight, invest a bit....

Demirezen has just said he can't get booked so is giving up. I'm sure he would jump at the chance of a reasonable, but not extortionate, payday against Anderson.

I think he said he’s taking a break. He’ll be back.
