seems like Gatti not even considering witter

According to fightnews.com gatti is not even considering witter. Main eventys are looking at jose luis castillo or muhhammed abulaev. This is really annoying for me because although I wud love to seee castillo gatti it probably wont happen as castillo looks be fighting coralles so we're left with abdullaev who has nothing to warrant a title fight and once again witter is given the short end of the stick.

Is anyone surprised by this, I'm not. They are keeping Gatti on ice for a big name for a big fight, Witter isn't in the running, as he isn't really either, not yet anyhow.

Witter should keep busy, and take on another good fighter around N'dou's level, then he will have a better chance of getting the showdowns he wants.

Gatti will probably hang on and try and get the winner of Tsyu vs Hatton... if that fight actually comes off.

Another Main Events blunder if true, Abulaev has the style to beat Gatti. 8)

I disagree James I think the Mayweather talk was a smokescreen and they're trying to keep him away from the best guys. That fight fell through for a reason, Mayweather wouldnt accept what they were offering which was probably a bullshit figure. Gatti's camp are not interested in the best fights out there.

They're steering clear of Witter as he's dangerous, they want smaller guys or guys below the top rung as those 2 choices are.

Fact is, Arum had offered Mayweather 4 million, with a guarantee of 3.5. Due to Mayweather's problems outside the ring, which held up and very much hurt the promotion of the fight Arum would only guarantee something like 3 million, it had nothing to do with Gatti and his camp. Gatti has been wanting the fight for a while now and although I don't think he would win, he wanted it, but Pretty Boy thinks that he is worth more than he is and because of that the fight fell through, it was all on Mayweather, Gatti and his camp had nothing to do with it!

Witter hasn't done anything to deserve a shot at Gatti, or any other top fighter yet and until he does there is no merit for him to fight anyone of Gatti's caliber! Witter would be lucky to last four rounds with Gatti as he wouldn't be as gentle as Judah was! Besides, Witter is suspended until at least late August!

Gatti's camp have been trying for the best fights, but it isn't their fault that the supposed best just seem to fall out at the last minute! Now Mayweather can go face someone a lot less dangerous for his standard 3 million that HBO pays him!

Alrite Don King name some names. Who should Witter fight in order to justify a fight against Gatti?

I know Witter isnt a non-punching, over-the-hill lightweight (aka Leonard Dorin, Jesse James Leija) but he did recently drop Lovemore N'dou twice, incidently something which the WBO Champion Miguel Cotto couldnt manage to do.

And I'll also inform you that Gianluca Branco, who not so long ago gave Gatti a really close, hard fight has done everything to avoid Junior Witter and not risk his WBC ranking to the extent that he recently pulled out of the fight with about 10 days to go (and he didnt cite injury as an excuse).
Not to mention that Kosta Tszyu's next opponet Ricky Hatton, has been well and truely steered away from Witter by his management.

Witter is as deserving as anybody to fight Gatti.

Witter's hand will be healed in a few weeks, he's offered his services for the June date.

Witter is far more deserving than Abduallev dont you think? And at least as deserving as Branco, Dorin, Leija were at the time. Who else is there other than Witter?

Deserving or not, no way will Witter get a shot at Gatti.

Gatti is a money printing machine, if they risk him getting beaten it will be by another PPV fighter, someone of Mayweather or Tszyu's ilk.

Abdulaev is a shocking choice, I have no doubts it will be him. He has done nothing to justify a top 20 ranking let alone a title shot.

Abdulaev isnt rated in the WBC top 40 so I dont see how he could get a title shot.

I'm sure they could work something out to get him rated.

I don't think Gatti would duck anyone, he seems to genuinely want to fight Mayweather but if he has an easy fight in the meantime while waiting for a big one then I wouldn't begrudge him it.... after all the wars he's given us the guy deserves a little leeway... its only to be expected that he's looking for the big money at this point of his career.

I'm talking about Gatti's handlers not him. There's a reason he's not fighting the top guys.
