I'm assuming both guys fight at their peaks, and give 100%.
The version of Douglas that KO'd Tyson would whip Tua. Douglas by UD.
But if Douglas is any less good than he showed on that one particular night (against Tyson), then Tua will knock him out.

the tyson version of buster only existed for 1 fight, it's highly unrepresentative of him as a fighter tbh and totally inflates him if thats the version we take for all these fights
that said, even on an average night for bus, his style was a hard one for tua with the quick jab and move and long arms. could see buster winning anyway, and if he got stopped he'd be ahead at the time

It could be the Buster from the Holyfield fight, and Buster wins a UD.
The Buster that gassed himself out against Tony Tucker may well run into trouble late in the fight against Tua. It would all depend on how he paced himself, but unless he gassed out, and got stopped, he's just better than Tua.
Tua of course has a punchers chance, but that's it.

Tokyo Buster Douglas would outbox Tua behind his long jabs and countering Tua's left hooks with combinations at long range without engaging him on the inside to take a decision.

Always thought Buster got a bad rap for only beating Tyson. He also beat Page, Berbick, and McCall. He wasn't the most consistent guy, but neither was Tua. He was on another skill level than Tua. Douglas would probably win a wide decision.

Douglas looked great on the streak before Tyson too. He wasn't a one fight wonder. He fully reached his prime by the end of 80s. Of course, against Tyson he received extra-motivation, but he was phsically there too.
And at his best Douglas wins Tua easily.
