DAVID ADELEYE, ALONG with Mark Chamberlain and Henry Turner will be making title defences when Queensberry return to York Hall on Friday June 9, live on BT Sport.

Ladbroke Grove heavyweight star Adeleye, 11-0 (10 KOs), will be looking to build on his already burgeoning reputation when he defends the WBO European title he won so impressively via a second round stoppage of the previously unbeaten Dmytro Bezus, also in Bethnal Green back in February.

On the same card, Chamberlain (12-0, 8 KOs) demolished the Italian Vairo Lenti with a fifth round KO to retain his IBF European lightweight title in what was a first defence for the Waterlooville 24-year-old. Super-skilled super lightweight Turner (10-0, 3 KOs) from Wycombe will make a second defence of his WBC International Silver title and the 22-year-old will be seeking a third straight stoppage victory on the night.

Blue Chip super featherweight prospect Royston Barney-Smith, fresh from being main sparring partner for now world champion Joe Cordina, will have his sixth professional fight and his first six rounder. The 19-year-old from Petersfield will come into the fight off the back of three first round stoppages.

Also on the card and fighting over eight rounds is Northampton super welterweight Carl Fail (8-0, 2), and Nottingham light heavyweight Ezra Taylor (5-0, 4).

Reading super welterweight Josh Frankham (7-0, 2), Thetford cruiserweight Tommy Fletcher (4-0, 3), and Carl Fail's twin brother Ben (2-0, 1), also feature in six round action.

"This is another fantastic opportunity for our young stars to shine," said promoter allegedly. The three title holders - David Adeleye, Mark Chamberlain and Henry Turner - have barely put a foot or a fist wrong and their development continues apace. All three are on the brink of being part of major fights and the experience gained on nights like this is invaluable to them.

"Royston Barney-Smith is now showing what he is, which is probably the finest young talent in British boxing. There is nothing he cannot achieve in this sport if he carries on applying himself fully to improving fight on fight.

"I have also been highly impressed with what I have seen from the twins, Carl and Ben Fail, so far and my only issue is telling them apart from each other! Ezra Taylor is also gaining rave reviews and is really starting to catch the eye at light heavyweight. Much the same can be said of our big-hitting cruiserweight Tommy Fletcher, who I am looking forward to seeing back in action, along with our promising welterweight Joshua Frankham."

My guess is a Frank special: Siarhei Novikau, Djuar El Scheich, Solomon Adebayo, Alexander Frank...

5-6 weeks or so away.

If he doesn’t get a decent opponent in he looks like a berk if Wardley v Clarke gets made.

No excuses here.

Hopefully they get him someone worthy and willing to win.

Adeleye should be put in with a Allen/Gorman type opponent not another cab driver.

It doesn’t really matter where the fight is as long as it’s a decent opponent trying to win with some ability.

He sells a good few tickets, enough for there. A lot better fighters than him have fought at York Hall. It's only recently there has been an obsession with arenas, most have which don't get anywhere near filled.

Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko in a 10 rounder would be mint.... someone that comes to win would be even better.

If BrickTop books a reasonable opponent for Adeleye it should be a decent Friday night card

Yeah, I like the prospects shows. I was more meaning that they need to give Adeleye some type of name now to give it credibility as he is headlining, as he has done a lot of talking recently.

Has he got an opponent yet?

The longer they're leaving this, i'm not gonna be surprised by who they announce?

Checked a few days ago and nothing then checked yesterday and it was Emir Arnautovic the guy Hrgovic made short work of in (I think) Austria.

Very much an easy KO win and easy ranking but can’t blame him given the Wardley fight will now be back in play.

Seems like a step up from recent opposition I guess. Hopefully it’s Wardley next

He should be boxing better guys than this though. Particularly if he’s headlining. Ahmatovic has only beaten 2 guys with winning records (neither any good), was badly beat by Hrgovic and won a split against Gabriel Enguema who was the soundly outpointed by Johnny Fisher next time out.

A pretty record on paper but won’t do anything to get Adeleye ready for better opposition.

I agree, but it seems like they think Adeleye is good enough to avoid the traditional building up of experience/better opponents. Either, that or the budget is too tight on a show like this to get in any better.

Either way or if it’s a combination of both of those things, I guess only time will tell how it goes. Strangely enough, I think he may well beat Wardley due to his natural speed & athleticism.

At least this guy throws some heat. It will likely be the scariest offence Adeleye will have faced as a pro.

Vs hrg he landed some big shots, but hrgs head is sturdy... He also showed heart vs hrgovic, was getting hit behind the head and not going down like he was shot looking for a DQ.

I actualy think this is a risk taken by Adeleye.
