Floyd Patterson vs. Mike Weaver

Patterson would outbox Hercules Weaver behind his jabs and combinations on the outside and inside to take a decision. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Mike "Hercules" Weaver would knock out Patterson. The only question is how long it takes Weaver to get untracked. Mike was always a slow starter.
No disrespect to Patterson, who I've always liked. But he didn't have the size, strength, or durability to hang there with a bulldozer like Hercules.

Patty kayos Mike. The chinny slow starter Weaver would be stopped early by the explosive Floyd. It's tough to pick Weaver against any hard-hitting fast-starter.

But Patterson only weighed 188 lbs. Do you think he had the power to blow Hercules away in the opening rounds? I question if Floyd was big and strong enough to do so. Hercules was 20 lbs heavier, after all.
It's true that Weaver had a history of getting sparked by big punchers who caught him cold. Dokes did it and Bonecrusher did too. But not everyone had the requisite voltage to wipe Weaver out like that.

Between Patterson's hand speed and his accurate punches I think it's possible that he could spark out Mike Weaver.

I've vacillated on this one for years. All I can say is it's maybe my favorite mythical match.

Floyd Patterson was the better technician and the faster boxer of the two. He could win by knockout or decision over Mike Weaver.
