As you can see, he didn't do too many interviews.

His bio came out in 1980. Out of print now, but check on Amazon UK and you'll find a few copies on offer.

Alan Minter, prior to his middlewight defence agianst Marvin Hagler said:

How 'unfortunate' that Hagler subsequently battered Minter into submission within 3 rounds...

A vile man. I have seen him off his face at a show, when a young kid went up to him and asked him for an autograph. Rather than signing he gave the kid a stream of foul-mouthed invective.

Someone I know saw him, think it might have been at the last BBBofC do, and apparently he was staggering around the car park trying to start a fight with someone. Have to say, he does have the look of an alchie in the recent pictures of him. Looks older than his years.

I saw Alan Minter at a dinner evening he was special guest at in Bristol only a couple of months back. You'll be pleased to hear he has given up alcohol and looks fit and well. His speach was hilarious and he had some fabulous stories to tell. He took time out to speak to fans and sign autographs.

Lets spend less time knocking our top fighters past and present, the game gets enough bad press as it is!!!!

I'm not one to knock fighters mate, I suspected that it was the drink which was the culprit, that's why I said he was pissed at the time. He'd hardly be the first person to succumb to alchohol, or the first to become a nasty bastard when pissed. Glad to hear he's straightened out.

There was something in Boxing News last week in the old timers bit about what a nice bloke Minter is and how he's done a lot for the ex-boxers club in the London area.

His auto-biog is OK. It isn't particularly controversial (although books like this weren't at the time), and is written before the Hagler loss. I'd be more interested in reading what Minter had to say after his retirement.

Actually given sports auto-biogs tend to be much more candid now than, say, even 10 years ago I'd be interested in an updated Minter biog.
