There’s a few guys you gave honorable mentions who I’d put in the top 25 or even 10 but really good list. Really hard to fit everybody in when there’s so much talent to pick from lol.

Some honorable mentions I’d add:
Orlando Canizales(USA)
José Luis Castillo(Mexico)
Acelino Freitas(Brazil)
Sergio Martínez(Argentina)
Israel Vásquez(Mexico)
Rafael Márquez(Mexico)
Antonio Esparragoza(Venezuela)

I’d have Chocolatito around 15 and Saldivar around 20 and drop Rodríguez (great fighter, maybe just below Cervantes). But really good list

The great Kid Gavilan of Cuba is one of my favorite fighters. Those are Two great fighters that you have mentioned right there.

I don't have any major problems with the list either. Of course, there are some close calls that we quibble about, but nothing major, unless we are all somehow overlooking someone.

I'm certainly no expert on all these names but perhaps Canelo and ODLH should be on the original list. Great list!

I heard you, but with all respect, I don't think that those two were good enough to make the list. That's my humble opinion.

He is good, but compared to the guys on this list in history and skill, I think he comes short.

Some guys in honorary mentions that were better than Canelo in my view:
Baby Arizmendi (Mexico)
Antonio Cervantes (Colombia)
Chocolatito Gonzalez (Nicaragua)
Nicolino Locche (Argentina)
Ismael Laguna (Panama)
Sixto Escobar (Puerto Rico)
Hector "Macho" Camacho (Puerto Rico)

Just because I don't think Duran should be at the top is not dissing. Here's a guy who lost to Kirkland Laing, twice to Vinny Pazienza, got blown up by Tommy Hearns, gave it the famous "No Mas and quit, and looked kike a dog against Leonard in fight 3 Don't see anything like that in Jofre's record. You got a man crush on Roberto and it skews your thinking.

Jofre never went up over 15 pounds to fight anybody. Great boxer in his time, though. That's why he is there in the top 5.

Hey Roger, I can see an argument for either guy. I think Duran had more bad moments, but I do think he has one or two more "wow" moments, like the Leonard win. I regard both among the best dozen or so fighters of all-time.

Most of Duran's "bad moments" were when he was fighting past his prime in a much higher weight class (no mas is an exception). Duran was a prime lightweight who got hammered by Hearns and lost to Lang, for instance, when he was in his 30s fighting at 154. He won a belt at 160 in his late 30s. His losses to Pazienza were when he was in his 40s and fighting at 168, or 33 lbs above his prime weight. A prime Duran would have killed Pazienza at lightweight. It would be like Jofre fighting at welterweight and complaining about him getting beat

I have a bigger issue with you not including Gonzalez in the top 20. Same with Perez. Both top 20 minimum. Gonzalez won titles at four weights and was a far more complete fighter in the light weights than Canto or Lopez. He would have beaten both, probably stopping Canto on cuts. So would have Perez

I might put Chocolatito higher but I think because he's still active, I have not truly measured him against the retired guys yet. Now that I think about it, yeah, I would probably give him the nod over those two.

Duran's losses weren't my comment. I don't factor in a lot of those fights. Laing, Hearns, Leonard II a little. Leonard II a lot actually. But it doesn't offset his accomplishments enough for me to bump him from the first place spot.
