I am positive that I read just after Lennox Lewis struck Gold at the Olympics that he was made an offer to fight for the title in his first fight.

I have no idea if it was a serious offer but I remember reading about it.

Yeh but he was intellegent enough not to say yes. It was like audley being offered the williams fight first off it dosen't make sence.

There is such a drastic difference between the Ameture and the Professional game. I do believe Floyed Patterson fought an olympic champion as one of his deffences and beat tha guy quite well.

Gotta give the guy credit for his opposition, straight in the deep end without armbands in his pyjamas with 2 bricks at the bottom.

Thats right it was Pete Rademacher who actually managed to drop Patterson in the second round.

That is precistly why it is such a stupid question. He had the where withall to drop him and had he been a seasoned pro one immagens he would have known how to capitalise on such a KD insted he didn't and was stoped in the 6th. Furthermore the jump from ametur rounds and proffesional is a sereouse bussness.

It's a shame that ANYONE was even in the Twin Towers in the first place........that's kind of a shitty thing to say, especially for people on this site that knew people that died on 9/11.....

I think he was refering to the Rev. War. Also, the US has many different races and creeds. If you really want to be technical about it, we all came from the middle east......

The oldest found human skeleton was found in the middle east, second oldest was Africa. Also pointing references at the bible. Also, your last there could be taken in the wrong way by some members of the board........

I don't think the post is that bad!

OK its a bit optimistic thinking Tyson could win a world title in his first fight but we are talking about one of the most successful heavyweights of all time.

I don't see the harm in raising the idea.

Wouldn't surprise me if one day someone will come straight from amateur (Olympic gold medallist for example) and win a world title in their first fight.

you can shove the bible up your arse for starters....

and the oldest "human" skeleton was a bird called lucy, believed to be 3.2 million years old...found in ethiopia..which is east africa......
