Boxers who didn’t like getting hit.

No boxer should readily embrace getting hit about the head, although there has been the odd mentalist to drop hands and offer their unprotected jaw.
I never thought Mike Tyson was particularly enamoured with taking punishment, obviously loved dishing it out.
I have another high profile name who bordered on comical when taking a shot, but will see if any other poster namedrops him first.

Eubank Senior who regularly decided to glide through low-risk fights and told the press that boxing was a grubby trade and he'd find ways to win fights how he saw fit. And if that meant 'doing just enough' for a result he was fine with that.
But when the time came Eubank was not found wanting.
Benn tried to take his head off, Michael Watson hit him hard and cleanly and he actually came back like a tiger when Calzaghe dropped him hard and early. He was also a warrior against the much bigger Carl Thompson.
Complex fighter. I kind of dislike the fact he had fights with guys like Wharton (which could have been a barn-burner) and was not really going for it and could have buried Ron Essett, Lindell Holmes or Gimenez but just fenced for 12 rounds.
But I suppose the first 1990 war with Benn was so violent that Eubank decided that if he could win easy and not take any shots by chancing his arm - and getting hit was not for him - then that was the way to go.

I remember reading an article pertaining to the Vito Antuerfermo-Hugo Corro bout.
The Boxing Magazine writer and editor Strongly implied towards the end of his written article/take on that bout, that
"Hugo Corro" will go down in Boxing History as a Boxer who was Afraid to fight. I think that "Afraid to get hit" is what he was specifically implying.

Yes I agree with this. He has that Bob Sapp about him where he doesn't know whether to laugh or cry after being clocked.
