Wow, already an eliminator has been arranged for Clinton Woods' newly acquired IBF crown and it involves two former world champions who are well known.

On April the 7th, former WBO champion Julio Gonzales will tackle former WBC champion Montell Griffin in an eliminator for the IBF.

You know that the sanctioning bodies love that the title fight happens soon after the eliminator.... So the winner of this fight is who I predict will Woods will fight in his first defence.

Woods won't have to take on his mandatory for ages though, he's just one the bloody title. He can pick his next couple of defences.

Thats not always the case, especially as he won a vacant title. I'm not sure what is the situation with Woods - it is odd that this fight has been arranged so quickly.

i think it depends on the organisation. if you win a vacant title you have to defend vs the top contender within 6 months to 12 months.
