So who does everyone want next for Crawford?

Post by gilgamesh »

I know the guy is celebrating the greatest victory of his career tonight, and we should give him his roses, but you know us Boxing fans. It's always...the next one.

So now that the big one is in the books.

What do we want to see Crawford do now?

Personally. I wanna see what happens when Crawford fights Boots Ennis. Tonight he proved to be the best of his own era, and if he beat Boots he'd have beaten the best of any of the young challengers out there. From there he'd have nothing left to prove as a Welterweight really. I suppose he could beat up Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman just for the hell of it

Beyond Boots I'd like to see him beat up the Charlo's. Both of 'em

Kinda start a rivalry between Dallas, Texas and...just Terence Crawford

jermell would have been the perfect ffight - undisputed champ at next division + spence revenge - if it werent for canelo taking him first

next best thing would be ennis. or maybe make some big jump up and clown ggg or something. or how about canelo himself? prob beats them all tbh

There's always Brother Jermall.

Of course I think we'd all agree we'd like to see him fight Ennis before vacating the division and the Championship.

It's still got the "Revenge for Spence" thing going for it. Plus it'd just be funny to see him beat up those assholes

It has to be Ennis for me.

I know there's a rematch clause, but the world doesn’t need that fight again; the result would be the same.

Vergil Ortiz then Boots. That clears up the next generation.
Then move up to face Mell for the undisputed. That would either be huge if Mell actually beat Canelo....or Crawford taking those belts from a dishevelled Canelo victim.
That would be some swansong before he retires a true legend. :box:

Let's hope EJ doesn't really activate his rematch clause.
If he doesn't: Mell would be the perfect next fight for me, otherwise I'd take Boots.
We know boxing though ane Canelo AND Tszyu are more likely.

I don't need a 35 year old Bud the "clear the division". There will be always someone coming up.
As for EJ, the Thurman fight doesn't sound too bad anymore, does it?

For now Ennis. Charlo sounds interesting, but he'll face Canelo anyway.

What I want is Boots at 147, then Canelo at whatever Caneloweight.

What we'll get is him vs Spence at 154, then who knows.

Any of the above, plus Ortiz Jr, Munguia, 3G, Kurbanov, Mendoza . . .

I just want him back in the ring within the next 8 months.

Well, hopefully he is able to recover 100% this time. With 3.5 years of recurring serious health issues, it is a wonder that he has been able to fight as much as he has.

Vergil comes to mind but I think Crawford would handle him right now. too sneaky and smart

no idea if we'll actually ever see Vergil's potential now though, with his health stuff.

Crawford is almost 36 y/o, so I guess he is thinking to get even bigger money fights. So I'd not rule out the possibility that Crawford may want to get a fight with Canelo.

It's a shame Canelo has moved up so far, I find it hard to see him making 160 again, but above that, surely Crawford has no chance just too outgunned physically.#

162 catchweight, could Canelo make that weight again?

I think it would be a compelling fight if we could have a sensible weight differential on fight night,

Probably Boots

Would have liked Charlo but Canelo has fucked that up.

Boots would be prefered, don't might the Spence rematch at 154.

GGG at 160. It would sell and be an intriguing fight.
