It's backfired because he's actually making money off of this
Again, not clear how it backfires on the lefties. The rubes will send the grifter money any time he asks. Seems like it is backfiring on the people who send him money, not the lefties. Not like it’s going to run more TV ads to help his re-election
It's also backfiring because the lefties thought it would be total humiliation, well it doesn't sound like humiliation when your picking up a cool $7 million now is it ;-)
If you think that's a lot of $ in American politics, you are even stupider than I thought you were.

Out of over 300,000,000 Americans it means 1 million morons donated $7 each. Perhaps it means 100,000 morons donated $70 each. It means less than nothing other than there are a lot of stupid people which we all previously knew.

Donny Loser's PAC spent $40m on lawyers the first half of the year. Now that he's facing four indictments it will probably be twice that much in the second half of the year. A lot of simps are dipping into their Bud Light, cigarette and generic tortilla chip money to pay for his legal defense

When it rains, it pours!

The New York Attorney-General suing Donald Trump for fraud has claimed Trump inflated his income by up to $US2.2 billion in one year to convince banks to lend him money on more favourable terms.

The process, filed in the State Supreme Court in Manhattan, sought a $US250 million judgment and a ban on Trump and his three children doing business in New York.

In court papers made public, Attorney- General James urged Judge Arthur Engoron to issue an immediate verdict endorsing her claim that Trump and his company defrauded banks and business associates by lying on financial statements about his wealth and the value of his assets.

The lawsuit is scheduled to go to trial on October 2 in state court in Manhattan. Judge Engoron has scheduled a September 22 hearing on James’ request.

Poor old Donny will spend most of the next few months in and out of court.

MAGA = 'Make Attorneys get Attorneys', 'My Ass Got Arrested', 'Many Are Getting Arrested', 'Mobsters Are Getting Arraigned'

Former President Donald Trump's Save America PAC is critically low on funds — at the exact moment it stares down the prospect of paying millions more for legal fees for associates of the former president in the Georgia election racketeering case, reported USA Today Thursday.

The PAC "has spent nearly all of the more than $150 million it raised and is sitting on less than $4 million" — and Trump "has already dug into his fund for 2024 ads and borrowed money to post bail in Georgia," as some of his co-defendants beg for donations and claim he is not helping them as they assumed he would.

Four of Trump's co-defendants — attorneys John Eastman and Jenna Ellis, DOJ official Jeff Clark, and fake elector Cathleen Latham — have been reduced to using the right-wing Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo for money. Ellis in particular has allegedly been left in the cold by Trump and his associates because of her work with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the former president's most significant rival for the 2024 nomination.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

These trials could end up being massively expensive, according to experts. Defense attorney Danya Perry estimates that if they run for two or three weeks, they could easily top $10 million. And some of Trump's associates are already facing financial ruin – Rudy Giuliani is reportedly nearly broke, and already has a default judgment looming over him in an election worker defamation case, as well as debts from other legal cases.

At a bare minimum, said former federal prosecutor and defense attorney Bruce Udolf, “I can’t see most top-level white collar lawyers doing it for less than $2 or $3 million.”

Mark Meadows, former chief of staff under Trump, said that he encouraged the Trump campaign to put together a list of fake electors because if he hadn't: "I knew I’d be yelled at by the president of the United States.”
That should fly in court, what a beta. My guess is that he'll flip on Trump to save his own ass.

Agree, if anybody in this is going to flip it’s Meadows, who has always been a weasel. The fake electors themselves will very likely get off because they were stooges who went along with the scheme (at least in Georgia)
