Fabio Wardley vs. David Adeleye | TNT PPV - 28 October 2023

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Fabio Wardley vs David Adeleye ordered

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) has released its latest championship circular, which features a number of interesting tidbits.

Since Frazer Clarke pulled out of his ordered heavyweight title shot against Fabio Wardley (16-0, 15 KO) in May, David Adeleye (12-0, 11 KO) gets the call instead. The two have until August 9th to avoid a purse bid and must fight “by the end of December 2023.”

Like Clarke, “Big D” will be taking a big step up if he chooses to accept; he’s never gone past six as a pro, nor beaten anyone more notable than Kamil Sokolowski. Still, the talent’s there. Even if it’s too much, too soon, he’s still just 26 and has plenty of time to rebound.

Just created a seperate thread for this one.

Latest is.. Purse bids cancelled.

Team Wardley are dealing with Queensberry directly.

If I were advising Wardley I’d tell him get the bigger purse by fighting on the away show. Adeleye looked absolutely useless vs the last guy and couldn’t pass the Sokolowski test either.

What’s the point fighting without belt?

Surely not because it’s taking place in Saudi.

Shouldn’t matter.

Yeah hopefully the BBBoC see sense and don't strip Wardley if he wins. But possibly fighting under a foreign commision means the Board won't allow it for their title. Seems odd that the tweet says 'will defend his British title' and the rtweet says might not be on the line.

It’s happened before surely? Or with certain belts defended on another territory?

As long as it’s two British boxers. Who cares.

Ridiculous if that was Adeleye that did that. Cut a month before the fight for Wardley.

I thought Adeleye looked on edge and wanting a fight when he was getting interviewed by TNT.

it was the hat guy in adeleye's crew who dropped wardley with a sucker punch, although that seemed to land on opposite side of the cut

adeleye fights trash in the ring, and outside the ring gets his bois to do his fighting for him

It barely even connected it looks more like he tripped, that was the "left hook" that "dropped" Wardley was it?? Disappointing, even more disappointing for Wardley now that word is spreading he was dropped by a phantom punch

It looks like a missed attempt at a jab is now a guy being dropped by a left hook

Lol boy do I feel silly, not only was it a left hook, it was a left hook that came from the floor telegraphed a mile away and I'm saying it's a missed jab :OhYes: yeah that's definitely a sucker punch and not a trip

I saw the shittier angle though

Why oh why do promoters waste money on hiring ineffective steroid munching gym rats to pose as “security”.

At ring walks, press conferences, weigh ins etc they’re absolutely useless. I really don’t understand why they have them.
