I feel like they Box on fairly even terms through 8 or 9 rounds, but in the Championship rounds the superior craft of Holmes, and all them jabs he'd been busting Tommy up with all night start taking hold, and I think he knocks Tommy out in the 11th round or thereabouts.

I didn't notice you were asking what would've happened in 1992. My original answer was what would happen if both were at their best.

In 1992, Morrison wins a UD over Holmes. Still gets enough bumps and bruises to know he was in a fight, but he's the clear winner in 1992.

Morrison would probably beat the 1992 version of Larry Holmes. I assume he'd win by decision, and it could be very close on the cards.

But if these guys fought during their respective primes, I'd pick Holmes to win by stoppage, sometime between the seventh to tenth rounds. Tommy, who lacked durability, would be broken by Holmes's whiplash rights, which sometimes carried decent power.

Holmes in his peak and maybe if he was getting a Scott Le Doux (maybe a bit harsh) but 1992 feels close as you like.

If Morrison would be too aggressive, he could gas fast and get tricked by Holmes. The Foreman bout version of Tommy would win a dec.

Holmes in 1992 would not allow the Duke to land his right hands and his best punch the left hook by landing his great left jabs at long range and circling all night while nailing him with a big right hands to take a decision even though Holmes was not as quick as he was in his prime.
