Question: How are the rankings affected following
Anthony Joshua's win over
Robert Helenius and also
Filip Hrgovic's win over
Demsey McKean?
Does
Dereck Chisora deserve a spot back in our top 15?

Joshua - Remain at 3: It wasn't pretty but Joshua won, getting the KO. A stay busy fight which doesn't change anything. Still a better record than everyone ranked 4th and lower, the win is not big enough to make him rise.
Hrgovic - 5th: Hrgovic won, albeit unimpressively. He does have a win over Zhang. Although debated, he has a win on paper, at worst he lost a close decision to Zhang. Zhang is ranked 6th by us because of his victory over Joyce, therefore, Hrgovic has to be above him for me.
My current rankings:
1. Usyk
2. Fury
3. Joshua
4. Ruiz
5. Hrgovic
6. Zhang
7. Whyte - TBC
8. Joyce
9. Sanchez
10. Parker
11. Wilder
12. Ajagba
13. Makhmudov
14. Chisora
15. Bakole
*16. Anderson

AJ 4
Hrg stays
Neither were that impressive. Hrg was downright crap. Aj still top 5 guy at HW.
I'd drop HRG despite his 'win' over Zhang. Overrated and nothing to look forward to except he's a harsh ko waiting to happen vs any top guy.

I think we can use the controversial clause on Zhang-Hrgovic.
Zhang was way more dominant against Joyce than Hrgovic was over Zhang as well.
Does Hrgovic beat Joyce? Who knows.. He's not in a rush to fight him.

Would love to see a rematch. Zhang was like two completely different fighters in those bouts.

Joshua stays at 3. It was a performance where he seemed to be trying out new thing, but ultimately got a clean KO.
Hrgovic should be in the top 10. As soon as McKean started to open up in the 12th after spoiling for half the fight, Hrgovic stopped him. Personally I thought Zhang beat Hrgovic, but it was a close enough fight that they should be ranked relatively close to each other.
Chisora stays out. I have no interest in watching him fight outside of being a gatekeeper to younger fighters.

If it was up to me, I would just take Hrgovic out of the ranking. I saw the same as I saw in the Zhang fight (Zhang won imho): A guy that doesn't want to be there, that doesn't have the drive to fight. And the fight was horrible.
Joshua should be behind Wilder. It took him like 7 rounds to beat Helenius, Wilder did it in 1.

Nicely said.

Joshua stays at #3. Scored a good KO against a top 25 fighter (per Boxrec), no reason to drop him any lower.
Hrgovic won, but his opponent was low ranked and it’s not a good enough win to move him up any further in my opinion. Stays where he is.
Chisora is borderline. Keeps fighting and losing to top guys, and beating lower ranked guys. Happy to put him in at #15 but think he should retire.

joshua stays at 3, better resume than wilder and wilder hasnt fought in close to a year anyway, now isnt the time to be moving him up the rankings. ko time is a pretty weak metric to rate guys, especially when it was obvious joshua wasnt pressing for a quick win. lucas rozinski, chisora, and kownacki ko'd szpilka way faster than wilder did if we're going that route

it would also f@ck over usyk, who is pretty much never gonna early ko dudes
hrg up to 8th, tbh most the other guys below that are just sitting on their arses, getting beat, or fighting utter trash like danny martz. i think some people need to accept that you can get pretty high in today's division without being impressive
chisora clearly beats yet another wilder challenger, but looked so sheeyat in doing it. ill keep him out

Whyte should be dropped out for the top 15, for the THIRD time testing positive for PEDs.

Gonna see where we go with this. Still early days.
But I reckon he’ll be voted out soon enough.

IMO, Chisora would beat Zhang, Bakole, Sanchez, and possibly Hrgovic and Anderson. Insane to me that he was voted out of the rankings despite beating Pulev. People are so biased in favor of wins and losses, despite the fact that everybody in the top 15 would lose to Tyson Fury, Chisora having been robbed like a zillion times throughout his career, and his willingness to actually fight strong opponents. Dude only lost to Usyk by a few rounds. Guarantee Usyk eats alive almost everyone in the top 15.
... tbf, his close decision win over Washington was not a good result. That's gotta be the first fight that had me thinking he might not belong in the top 15 anymore. He was not showing very good hand speed or power.

Both were move down on a win type performances (based on where they are ranked). But wilder has been inactive, so AJ remains. And hrga win over Zhang (even if it was a bit controversial) is underrated. So I’ll move hrg up above whatever useless people are above him…

Exactly this, and you know there will still be voters trying to put Anderson higher than Hrgovic in a few weeks time...
13.  Filip Hrgovic  vs.  Demsey McKean (BoxRec's #54)
14.  Jared Anderson vs.  Andrii Rudenko (BoxRec's #159)

He was voted out cus he was inactive for a year.
The Washington fight was only announced after that. So he was rightly voted out.
He’s lucky he stayed in as long as he did. He managed to look good in losses and give the top guys a close fight.
But come on, he didn’t lose to Usyk ‘by a few rounds’
He won maybe 2 of the first 3 and then it was all Usyk.

I would nearly agree pre his second fight with Parker. But Parker bashed him up then and he has looked dogshit since.

Voting in any poll where Tyson Fury is no 1 is extremely suspect.
Usyk is clearly no 1 and until I see anything different I would place Anthony Joshua at 2.
Fury (3) is on course to be stripped for not defending his title.
Fighting complete novices at the sport where you consider yourself the world champion is pretty pretty low.
As for Wilder (4), well being gifted a friendly win in his last fight is far from convincing either.
Usyk (1) v Dubois (8) and Zhang (5) v Joyce (6) is where the HW scene is at right now.
Hrgovic is still rising, albeit rather methodically, so he could be 7.
As for the rest, does it really matter?

Inactivity in our rankings:
Fury will be dropped due to inactivity in December if his match against Ngannou is not a pro fight and is only an exhibition. Unless he has his fight with Usyk scheduled by then.
Wilder will be dropped if his fight with Joshua is not scheduled by October.
Ruiz will be dropped in less than a month's time due to inactivity.
Whyte will likely get kicked for his failed test.
Ortiz will be dropped in less than a month's time due to inactivity.

Only thing with some of these inactivities is.. they end up announcing a fight soon and we drop them.
But 12 months is fair..
Whatever happened to boxers fighting twice a year.
Used to be even more often than that.

Forget rankings after the knock overs
Why not fornicate his fight off against Mck-who and step in v AJ?
400k for Mck-who or couple million v AJ plus win and catapult into big leagues

AJ stay same , Hrgovic to 4 - he played with Mc Kean, 12 round KO ( not many people have power to KO on 12 round) , this time he do well, not a single moment he was in danger, good defanz. Wilder and Ruiz inactive... the others are simple lower as Hrgovic.
16-0 still no lost. Nummber 4
