I'd love a legit reason why he didnt fight the WBC champ junior witter just after the floyd loss. A better match up and draw than lazcano.

Yep, Ricky’s expertly timed playing of the mental health card was clearly a cynical ploy to deflect attention from his lifestyle issues. This served as a blueprint for Tyson Fury who took it to the next level, virtually assuming the status of mental health ambassador to turn eyes away from some of his more unpalatable behaviour.

I’m a natural cynic and maybe my cynicism is misplaced here but for me Hatton and Fury merely went through periods of being a bit down much like everyone else on the planet does. No big deal and certainly not worthy of vast outpourings of sympathy. The trouble is that mental health is such a burgeoning industry now that there’s a willingness to categorise “feeling a bit upset” as a mental health issue in order to grease the wheels of the gravy train.

Their “suffering” is a world away from what Bruno and Eubank Sr seem to have gone through, I’ve very sympathy for their plight.

I think Ricky Hatton was excellent for British boxing.

I also think he has had a hard time personally, some things he brought on himself but nonetheless he had it tough.
