Came across an interesting fantasy match-up on Facebook.

Adonis Stevenson vs Glen Johnson. Both fought Cloud (Adonis in 2013, Glen in 2010), so let's take their versions from the Cloud fight. Fight takes place in Canada, at 175lbs for Stevenson's WBC belt. Who wins?

If you're gonna have it, make it interesting. Glen in 2010 is not Glen at his best.

You maybe right. But Glen was considered old even in 2004, when he was going into RJJ fight. I'd say, Glen was pretty damn decent up till the Froch fight. He gave prime Chad Dawson all he could handle in 2008-2009. Fought on even terms against Cloud in 2010. Went to war against Froch in 2011 (after a drop to 168, which wasn't his best weight).

I'd say that Glen still had enough to have a chance against Adonis, who was somewhat limited and himself had a short prime, as he became champion at an advanced age.

Glen was the 2004 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year though. In 2010 he was still a respected, former Champion, but not at the top of his game anymore.

The best Glen I feel like can beat Adonis.

The versions you put in the match, I think Adonis takes a decision.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. Yes, I can see it being this way.

Johnson walks through stevenson and beats him late
Glen couldnt handle combinations, steveson was more of a sniper. Glen had the best chin of his era

I always tend to fancy the guy with a rock solid chin and decent power vs a one hit bomber.

So with that in mind, I'd take Glengoffe to wear down and stop Stevenson, but in boxing, as we know, one punch can change everything.

Though Hopkins stopped Johnson down at MW, that was more fatigue and being worn down, as opposed to being blasted out.

Combinations were the kryptonite to johnson. He wouldnt really counter them

He had the best (arguably) chin of his era

I think he wins. Stevenson was a sniper but johnson would walk through and wear him down
