Opetaia's recent first defence was meant to be against his IBF mandatory Masternak but he pulled out. Opetai's opponent was then to be Riakporhe who also pulled out. Subsequently the fight was offered to Briedis but he was injured and Opetaia eventually fought Thompson.

It is now up to the IBF whether they enforce Brieidis as Opetiaia's new mandatory. Opetaia is willing to defend against Briedis but his preference is a unification fight.

read today he is fighting Jai, or at least wanting to. Long old career for Breidis, 14 years after a long kickboxing one, bonkers to think he fought Danny Williams over a decade ago. Close to 39 now, can't be long left regardless.

Briedis is aging but he is still a warrior.

I do not think anyone can disagree with that mate.
