Most sources seem to have Gatti born in Italy and bought up in Montreal, Canada.

The author, who has done a tremendous amount of research, utilizing both secondary sources and primary sources, including the Gatti family, says Arturo was born in Montreal, Canada. He has Italian ancestry from his parents, but was not born in Italy. That is a myth. His parents moved to Canada in 1964. Arturo was born in 1972.

Interesting. There are occurrences where someone prints something in error and many others simply copy it. Probably the case with Gatti because a Google search has most sources claiming he was born in Italy. I'll believe Canada from now on.

I seem to remember that when Gatti was an up & coming fighter he was often billed as being out of Trinidad.

Does anyone know why? Or was I just doing too many disco biscuits back in the early 90s?
