wilder is the oldest, been pro longest, and has suffered multiple beat down stoppage losses, i would be more inclined to have him first than last

usyk has the least amount of fights and is the only one who hasnt taken a beating or been knocked down heavily multiple times. but he has chronic injury issues

aj and fury both around 30 fights and a similar number of tough fights. only a year apart.

joshua the youngest, has the fewest rounds, second fewest fights, been pro 5 years shorter than fury/wilder (and only a month before usyk), had a short amateur career. hasnt really taken much more of beatings than fury and wilder. not chronically injured and out of fights. he might have the least miles tbh, doesnt mean hes' the best obviously

Most of Wilder's fights end quickly. He's had beatings but beyond Fury and Ortiz his other fights have been cake walks.

Fury has had the most tough fights. He's had problems with addictions and his weight goes up and down. Was he on meds for depression? I don't know. But if so they will have taken a toll too. I think he's also had the biggest emotional journey.

AJ had 2 tough fights with WK and Ruiz. But he's almost always on good shape. Of course, sometimes people train themselves into a shorter career, There's no formula set in stone.

wilder had the fury beatdown losses, with the 2nd being a legit ktfo where he was heavily knocked out, not a standing stoppage. a very tough first fight with ortiz in which he was almost out on his feet, was even getting hurt and tagged by the likes of eric molina in his first defense. stiv, szpilka, duhaupas, arreola all went rounds as well. by accounts, he was heavily dropped by harold sconiers too. been down 6 times in his career.

that's up there with joshua and fury for punishment taken id say. there is a camp for all those fights too, even if they end quick. he has ongoing injuries with his hands/shoulders/wrist.

joshua for example has fewer rounds, fewer fights, is 4 years younger, been knocked down and out less

Think this is a good summary, adding that Usyk reportedly had 300+ amateur fights, Fury had 35, Joshua had 43, Wilder 35. Only significant one there is Usyk.

I'd have to say that Wilder has probably the most miles on the clock but difficult to say until he steps in the ring against a half decent opponent. Fury seems to be adapting to his new condition well with less movement and more power. Joshua is trying to adapt to a newer style but has clearly struggled to a certain degree to get to the dominant level he was before. Usyk doesn't seem to have changed anything or look like he's needed to.

true, uzzy's am career is a factor too. started at 15 and did 2 olympic cycles

got to factor in AM mileage too, it moves Usyk top to bottom in this.

Styles as well. A smaller heavyweight who relies on a lot of movement, getting in and out of the pocket on fast feet, that's a style that can suddenly add extra mileage late in a fight.

Also I imagine Furys lifestyle has put many miles on the clock. The other 3 are always in good shape and live pretty clean.

Also the Fury DNA does not age well. Hughie Fury looks 55, Tyson 45

1. Usyk - Due to his lengthy amateur career, and various injuries. I'd say he's only got a few more years left at the top level, and I hope he can still give his best when/if he gets THE BIG ONE.

2. Wilder - The oldest of the 4. Knocked out twice. Never really improved on his ability, but still as dangerous as ever with the right hand. He can continue to be a formidable Heavyweight for another 3 or 4 years if he can accept just being a Top contender and not the man. If he insists on fighting the boys at the top to regain his title, he can expect more losses.

3. Joshua - Still physically all there, but mentally has kinda lost his grip a little bit. When he suffered the 1st loss to Ruiz, rather than trying to improve on the style he already had, he tried to completely reinvent the way he fights. It's made him less effective.

4. Fury - Older than Joshua, but having taken a 4 year hiatus, and never having been truly pushed to his limits in the ring. I think he could maintain his current form for another 3 to 4 years easily. Will he want to? Now that's always the question with Fury, but COULD HE? Yes.

The Drugs didn't help obviously, but sometimes stepping away from something and coming back to it rejuvenates you, and makes you realize why you enjoyed it in the first place.

I think Fury rejuvenated himself with the hiatus, and came back better than he was when he left.

Fury - the lifestyle between fights is the major factor here I'd say.

Wilder - age and his poor technique don't combine well.

Usyk - carrying a bigger frame than what is natural for him may be exacerbating the injuries. I don't doubt he is full of PEDs as all the others on this are too.

Joshua - seems to have just altered his style through choice rather than physical necessity, and that may enable him to have many years longer than the others on the list.

1. Fury - this is only opinion that he could be. Joshua has the best resume at Heavyweight but lost to somebody better.
2. Usyk - probably the best pound for pound. I think he could well beat Fury but size difference likely to play too big a part
3.Joshua - ahead of Wilder due to who he has beaten. Could lose to Wilder in a shootout but as a boxer Joshua shits all over him
4.Wilder - record speaks for itself but i believe he would lose to all 3 above him - already has to Fury of course but I think Usyk dances around him for 12 rounds, possibly even stopping him. Joshua as the better boxer tells me he lands first on Wilder but who knows in that one?

It seems most agree that Furys lifestyle outside of the ring will have the biggest detriment to his longevity.
When we look at the old fellas who managed to hang with the younger guys (Foreman, Ali, Holyfield, Lewis, Klitschko`s) they were all dedicated professionals who lived the athletes life (and aside from Ali, liked full of PEDs to the gills).

Whilst some guys look naturally more athletic than others, and Fury certainly does not fall into this category. Its also clear even when he lived the life in his early days - it was still not to the degree of those named above. Since coming back from the ban he has had two big satchels of blubber on his sides which indicate his reserved approach to training.

What other world champions have had longevity in their fighting career with a similar approach as Tyson Furys?

Boxing is such a funny sport when it comes to the memory bank - what has Wilder (and Joshua really) done to warrant being in the conversation.

Somehow Wilder's reputation goes up the more inactive he gets - he hasn't fought a competitive (proper) fight in how long? and lets not forget - whilst he brought some excitement to the Fury fight - the fact that you can probably count on one hand the amount of rounds he won in the three fights with Fury (and those include the KD rounds) - plus he is 38 he shouldn't be considered.

Surely a very legitimate case to have Ruiz ahead of him.
