I think all this “Fury didn’t train a day for this fight” speculation is giving him a pass that he doesn’t deserve.

Fury didn’t look in top form, but he was trying all the usual moves we’ve been used to seeing from that ugly, awkward style. To me, he didn’t look vastly different to what I’ve watched before.

The opponent had a lot to do with Fury’s performance last night. He’s been overrated for a long time.

Yes I can agree with that

Sneaking past on old and at the end of a very long career Wlad flattered Fury.

And instead of Wilder being berated for losing against a fat slob like Fury - the narrative instead was how good Fury was to beat Wilder

best MMA fighter he's fought.

Below Wlad they are pretty much all much of a muchness!

You could argue he's the best, partly on the fact he's the only boxer who's justifiably taken Fury to a split decision (Wilder doesn't count). But if you look at attributes you could argue:

Strength - 1st - undisputed

Power - 1 st - okay that's a stretch with Wilder but he's up there

Chin - 1st - he walked through Tyson

Countering ability - 1st - and I'm not kidding on that 1. Having the bottle to counter punch when you're being tagged is something very very few men in boxing can pull off. And Ngannou knocked Fury down with this counter.

Infighting ability - 1st

Handspeed - he's up there, he tagged Fury easier than anyone really. Wlad and Cunningham maybe quicker but not by much.

His stamina is very suspect. Mouth open from the 5th onwards. Had a rally in the 8th but I think that might have emptied his tank.

He's way better than Whyte and Chisora who couldn't get close to Fury. And yea Fury may have declined.

A rare and fair assessment. So many morons on here rewrite history after one fight. Not one of whom will have scored this objectively. Go and watch it and score each round with no music. It was a drab fight. A rubbish fight. But Fury won by a few rounds. Against a nobody so no pride won but he won.

I watched it again, with the sound off, scoring objectively, without bias, and scored it 120-107 Ngannou.

Fury basically looked the same as he did prior to the Wilder fights, which were the only time he ever looked like a big puncher in the ring against a very lanky heavyweight with not much weight on him.

Her just shown what most have known for a while , Fury is just not very good , Wilder is his greatest win , and Wilder really is a terrrible champ with more handpicked fights than any other heavyweight in history ,, you can't count Klitchko because Klitchko was old and weary , Fury was full of boars meat , and fury refused the rematch fighting clean , other than that who's really on Furys resume thats actually good , White , Chisora , .

Some nonsense after he was challenged by the scientific fact he’d have to have eaten ten testicles a day for a year or something to get that drug test result. And Fury said he did eat that many. I am beginning to. Although in his defence, he does talk bollocks so eating that many testicles could be the cause of it..
