What does the forum think of Mr W*rren?
For me, I think he is doing outstandingly well. Over the years he was bound to have lean periods but in signing Tyson Fury he struck gold.

I have a lot of respect for Frank in that he’s managed to survive in a really hard industry and he’s probably making more money from it now than any time previously.
I can’t forget though about him putting him companies out of business to avoid paying fighters. Namely Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Burns.
He was co-manager and promoter of Burns and really screwed him over. Not Don King levels but not good.

He is what he is. A boxing promoter so he’s dodgy by nature. I don’t particularly mind him because I don’t think he’s ever tried to tell anyone he’s some sort of good guy.

I genuinely think the sport is better off without him. He’s a dinosaur at this point, he should just retire and let his sons get on with it.

Not keen. He's increasingly arrogant and dismissive of real boxing fans, like we dont have a right to complain about the shit shows cos he's been in boxing far longer than us and knows far more.
He knows how to survive, he knows sweet fcuk all about giving us a product we deserve. Self serving fcukwit.

Not a fan.
Hated his formula. Prospects vs hyped up no hopers, over the hill vets or fighters 1 or 2 weight classes lighter....
Didn't do much to enrich the sport. His fighters, somewhat and himself, definitely, but ask 'fish eyes' if he cares, the answer was no then and its no now.
He is the millionaire and I am not, so there is the answer right there (though, not sure what he would have done without the £££ backing of Mr Lewis).
Mickey Duff (RIP), knew far, far more about boxing but was a tad shady himself but bizarrely, I preferred him and his genuine knowledge over 'Allegedly'.

he gave us some great nights. benn vs mcclellen, gomez vs arthur, calzaghe vs lacy/kessler, hatton vs KT, eubank vs thompson, bruno vs McCall, naz vs robinson, warrington vs selby/frampton....the list goes on and on.
saying that, we got 50 mismatches for ever one of those.
he's written his place in british boxing folklore.
been very naughty not paying his fighters in the past.

I think we can be guilty of just remembering the good fights. There was a lot of poor stuff, particularly on undercards.
We benefitted from the frequency of shows. It was pretty much one every week and sometimes two shows.
Would I swap Sky Sports boxing back then for Sky Sports boxing now? Absolutely. A crap show would be forgotten about because there were several coming up after it.

Yes the sheer volume of shows has much to do with it.
The whole ‘scene’ just felt more active.
