More on Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder Dec. 23 card in Saudi Arabia

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder will reportedly co-headline a big show on Dec. 23 in Saudi Arabia, a date originally being held for Fury vs Usyk (which will now take place on Feb. 17), and more information about the card is starting to filter out.

In short, it looks like it will be a heavyweight bonanza in Riyadh. Along with Joshua vs Otto Wallin and Wilder vs Joseph Parker, Mike Coppinger of ESPN.com reports two more big boy clashes for the show.

Daniel Dubois (19-2, 18 KO) will look to bounce back from his controversy-creating loss to Oleksandr Usyk in August by facing Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (26-0-1, 22 KO), who will pretty much be looking to force his way back into the mix in the division.

“Big Baby” has won three in a row since his return, last fighting on Mar. 18, where he stopped Lucas Browne in the sixth round of what really was an entertaining slugfest in Dubai. He’s a controversial figure in the sport at best.

The other fight would see Frank Sanchez (23-0, 16 KO) take on Junior Fa (20-2, 11 KO). Cuba’s Sanchez, 31, has been sitting at the same level for far too long, and other than a pretty good win over Efe Ajagba in 2021, his matchmaking has been extremely lackluster.

Fa, 34, won’t exactly be the contender people want to see Sanchez face, but at least it’s a better matchup than Scott Alexander or Daniel Martz. Fa lost a 12-round decision to Joseph Parker in early 2021, and 16 months later returned for a shocking TKO-1 loss to Lucas Browne in Melbourne.

There wasn’t anything more on Dmitry Bivol featuring on the card, but that could still be in the works. Prior reports have said Bivol (21-0, 11 KO) would defend his WBA light heavyweight title against Richard Rivera (25-1, 19 KO). Bivol, 32, hasn’t fought in just over a year.

I can see Miller gradually wearing down Dubois and taking him to that place where the self doubt and ambition gets tested again. He doesn't get hit that clean, manages to cover up quite well and will be putting pressure on Dubois from the start.

I've no respect for Miller as a proven drug cheat, but this is a good one for the fans who can watch 2 big guys whack the shit out of each other.

Queensberry are the event promoters. Will be interesting to see how it works and what tv networks it’ll be on.

I have a feeling it will be BT in the U.K. and perhaps DAZN elsewhere.

Will be interesting to see if AJ/Wilder get involved. I was hoping to see Eddie and Warren go at it too. Hopefully we do see it.

I think Dubois batters him. I was really impressed with him against Usyk, he’s improved loads. I think he gives the rest of the best in the division a tough fight & beats most of the rest.

Yep - Dubois has that quit running strongly through him now. I recon it's fWank cashing Dubois in to keep the Saudis sweet after Fury let them down.

They protecting Wilder by matching him with Parker .. it's still no guarantee Parker is worn enough to not beat Wilder though. 50/50 fight I recon.

AJ gets his stoppage in this though. Otto gets a reality check and stopped mid/late rounds.

That quit is always ready to show itself - when the going gets tough Dubois may try to ignore that voice of his self-doubt and fear, but it's still that voice he is hearing instead of the voice of the warrior urging him on .. he won't be able to help himself from quitting again.

Haven't seen much of drug cheat Miller, he's been hawked as part of a Wallin package (same manager) but on paper it's an ok fight especially as Dubois is no where near as good as people think.

As for Sanchez v Fa, this is average. Fa was ko`d early I think by Lucas brown.

On the other side Sanchez is quite small and doesn't punch hard but he is very good. Shame he's been out for so long.

I think you’re totally right. I think he can show improved grit and determination to a point, but ultimately he’ll have a lower breaking point than required. Key is getting folk out of there early. Good chance with Miller who I think is not really up to much.
