I missed this as i must have been doing my hair that evening. How did your beloved future all time great future hall of famer Amir Khan do in superstars?
Where did he come & what events did he compete in?

He won the running event easy.
Pretty poor at everything else.

A good summary. Seemed to get on with everyone but also showed plenty of youthful, ill-advised boasting. Said he was going to win the gym tests and he totally messed them up - might even have come last in them!

I didn't see the one Khan was in. Was that the one the cricketer Hollioke won? I saw Khan had a rake of the usual rowers and stuff in so didn't have much of a chance

yip he only won the runing cos the athletes didnt run, i cant work that one out they let ledejo run the 800 m but not iwan thomas....very odd.
i thought he was an arrogant shit to be honest who got what he deserved.
lets put it this way if it was kevin mitchell that had been on there and acted like that this board would have been going crackers.

HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO BREAK THE GYM RECORD .
No doubt in his mind, really fancied his chances and came LAST. Its not this sole incident, this on top of his prima donna fit over tickets and how he has nothing to prove has pissed me right off.

I think it was squat thrusts he said he would break the record on. He said could do 90 in the gym or something. I was surprised at how fit that drug-drama skier was.

I wasn't Skiers' are notoriously fit.
Khan in the gym tests was a bit shock. We went off like a train and was f'd after 20 seconds and wasn't doing them correctly by the end.

What a surprise. The guys an arrogant prick. He came across that way at some end of year review interview with John Inverdale. I'm glad he was shit on superstars.
What other competitions did he take part in?
Is he still talking about turning pro under Warren? I say forget it. The small amount of the public who will be able to keep track of his career on sky sports extra & PPV will probably lose their interest in him anyway as his ugly personality (wannabe arrogant bad boy) & his zero charisma, combined with what i personally feel are limited talents will not make for much of a career. The guys fornicating wank. IMO anyway.

Khan was a 17 year old lightweight against fully grown athletes. He didn't stand a chance.

What did the gym events actually consist of? Were there weights? Obviously a lightweight kid won't lift any serious weights. What is the squat thrust challenge (as many squat thrusts as possible in a miniute?) and whats the record for it?

Squat thrusts and dips. More than anything it shows that boxing is a skill sport. The reason why all the mythical matchups from the past are valid.

Hatton did shit last year as well. Mosley also floped in the US version.

Hatton was in not in any sort of shape for Superstars though. He was Jabba'd up.

Of all the people in sport who have been done for drugs, I do have some sympathy with Alain Baxter. Had an Olympic medal taken from him for using Vicks Sinex! Daft of him though...
As has been said, skiiers are famously fit. I think Bode Miller (or some other alpine fella) might even have won the Yankee superstars twice.
