Joe Frazier is right handed isn't he?

I believe he is naturally left handed, but fought out of a right-handed stance. Hence his left hook being so powerful, it was thrown with his stronger hand.

That explains my confusion.

Joe Frazier actually fought in the olympic finals with a broken right thumb... so instead of fighting as a southpaw which was his original stance, he had to turn and fight in a conventional stance and this won himthe gold medal. Joe Fraizer then kept this stance and called it his own.

He stood so weird anyway it was like he was on speed or something.

Frazier had very poor eyesight in his right eye from the start of his career and this must have influenced his stance/style and his use and favour of his left-hook.

I heard that one of the reasons Frazier favoured the left hook was because whilst in his early teens he was attacked by a bull and has his left arm broken.
When it healed it didn't heal straight, so his lefy arm didn't fully extend at the elbow and so was slightly 'hook shaped' (no pun intended).
Frazier claims that this enabled him to 'whip' the hook round easier than if his arm was straight.
I have never heard of Frazier fighting Southpaw.

I have an amateur fight of Frazier's in which he fights southpaw. Yes, I think he was naturally left-handed, although I'll have to check up on that.

Actually it was said to be a pig on his familys little farm, or so he said in his autobio.
The broken thumb was sustained in his contest before the final, so no new style, he just gritted his teeth and got on with it

It was one hell of a punch his hook was!!!
Is it the single most devastating punch p4p of any fighter???
