Hasim Rahman vs Mike Tyson (2001)

This fight was almost signed after Rahman's upset win over Lennox. Lewis won the court case and prevented it from happening (as a result, Lewis got the rematch with Rahman).
Had Tyson gotten that title shot against Rahman, what would've happened?
I assume Rahman should've been favoured at that point in time. But Hasim was also inconsistent and could be chinned. I discussed this fight on Facebook a while ago and I was surprised by how many thought Tyson would've won. Not even assumed Mike could've won, but actually picked him to win.
What people over here think on the subject?

It is not a bad match up.
Tyson was way past his best, but still had a little in the tank.
If I had to place a bet I'd of had to have backed Tyson by a 10th round knock out.
But Rahman pulling out a decision would not be out of the question

That's a good summary.
Yeah, I like the match-up too. It has variables. I think, I'd side with Rahman. But there's certainly a path to a win for Mike here.

This would've been Tyson's last real chance to win the World Title. I think he'd have hell beating Rahman at this point in his career, but he hadn't completely lost the fire the way he would a few years later. I think in 2001 Mike still would've given it all he had left I think without quitting at the first sign of resistance as became his thing from 2004 onward. That being said, would he stand up to the 10th sign of resistance? Because that's what I think Rahman would be giving him here.
It's hard to gauge what Mike had in 2001 because his schedule was comparatively lighter then.
For Boxing Fans this one definitely would've been a lot more interesting than Lewis vs Rahman 2. That being said, Lewis deserved his rematch.
For the record: I think I'd pick Rahman to stop Mike.
