It being a barren boxing wasteland this weekend, thought I'd post this. Who do we have for the top 5 domestic boxers for 2023? Just a broad thread, can be based on domestic or global success, as long as they're Brits.

Here goes mine:

1. Leigh Wood
2. Chris Billam-Smith
3. Sunny Edwards
4. Anthony Joshua
5. John Ryder

joe samuel's win over shavkatzon was nice. gruelling, close fight, but well deserved over a very tough guy. very good fight. first defense tougher than expected but still a win over another tough dude. id have him up there.

sunny beat a totally rando chilean then got spanked by bam, i wouldnt have him in the discussion if we're talking resumes for the year

ryder didnt win at all this year, at most a round or two off canelo

Off the top of my head...Leigh Wood.

Dan Azeez might have been denied a worthy mention due to his injury causing the postponement of his clash with Joshua Buatsi.

going through records, it's a shame how many guys fight no more than twice a year

someone like nick ball could be much more prominent in this with an added win

guys like nick ball and liam davies should absolutely not be down to 2 fights a year already. get them on more like 4

2x is more fitting for a top level guy who is facing elite opposition each time out, has loads of experience already, and already a firmly established name. like how inoue did it this year. and even then you wanna see more. but guys who are still building up should be out there more.

Leigh Wood for sure.
I did enjoy DDD really closing the show against Miller, but one energetic round probably doesn't cut it

I almost forgot a runner up.....

1) Leigh Wood
2) Chris Bilham-Smith
3) Anthony Joshua (deserves a mention beating 3 fringe contenders in 9 months)
