Why would you ever drop a belt on the possibility of a bigger fight, the euro isn’t much but it’s somthing that could have a slight chance to lure a DDD or wardly, or Joyce in.

He is in a spot where he is in his prime, undefeated, and has beaten some names. He not American or British, they have older men that are known in the division. But their day in the sun is about over. All that left is AJ.

The promotion of heavy weight boxing now is in flux, and shifting to Saudi Arabia.

He could have defended against Joyce and Dubois with a higher % so that's them counted out as opponents. Usyk and Fury are obviously busy, would can probably assume Joshua isn't going to face his old sparring partner when he seems to have the choice of opponents which includes Zhang and Hrgovic for "belts".

Best options left: Maybe Zhang, Parker, Bakole, Ajagba, Anderson, Wallin, Wilder.

I'd personally like to see him against Bakole or Zhang of those.

This also means that the EBU belt is there for the taking for whoever wants to flatten Schwarz. Dubois, Wardley, Wallin and Joyce should all be all over that if they want the belt. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Dave Allen could even beat Schwarz.

I think Joshua will wait to to see how Usyk vs. Fury goes, and if Fury wins ( I think Fury gets beaten ) fight Fury instead.

this guy is an idiot and his career trajectory is becoming more self explanatory by the day. Has he not seen the news? Joshua is facing Ngannou and then will either be looking at a vacant IBF belt with Hrgovic, the WBO belt with Zhang or the undisputed belt against Fury. Unless Kabayel gets a mandatory or Joshua loses, Kabayel isn't in his sights, even if they are old sparring partners.

His best bet is Parker or Hrgovic if Joshua and Zhang are tied up with Ngannou and Wilder. Joyce, Sanchez, Dubois and Bakole are the names he should now be looking at.

That Wallin fight was the best bit of business business that came AJs way in years and he took full advantage.

There's nothing quite like getting in hours and hours of sparring against any future opponents/rivals. Not only does it help breed familiarity and confidence, it might also tell you who you want to avoid.

Yep. Kaybel has a chance to fight Hrgovic for the IBF title now in May or June.

AJ will face the winner if Usyk vs. Fury, unless it is Usyk. We have already seen that one, twice,

Possibly this will mean the winner of AJ vs. the 0-1 boxer meets the IBF champion in late 2024.

I think Dubois is the ideal choice of opponent. I think Kabayel and Dubois should both be ranked below the great contenders like Zhang, Ruiz, and Hrgovic. There is some storyline, as some viewers would have seen both of them fight on the same card.

Another similarly-ranked guy, Joyce, probably wouldn't be done recovering from the KO in time to fight Kabayel in like the Spring. So that makes Dubois even moreso the only perfect opponent for Kabayel.

I've been waiting forever for him to step up, I'd given up and figured he was just going to fight nobodies and retire with his "0" intact, when he had so much more potential. Not that i considered him a title contender, but he was clearly more skilled than your typical protected prospect.

When he fought Chisora I thought that meant he was trying to kick his career into high gear but since then it's been crickets until the Mak fight. I guess he was hurt for a long time, shoulder I think, and those can linger forever. I hope he does try to make a run at something now, just to see how far he can go. He doesn't seem to have a killer instinct at all, but he's really good at figuring out his opponent, both against Chisora and Mak he fought very intelligently and picked his spots well.
