Kinchen was a good, solid fighter but he lacked that something extra. He took a horrible pounding at the hands of Juan Domingo Roldan in 1987 but came back to give Tommy Hearns a real scare on a bonanza weekend of boxing in Las Vegas in November 1988. The Hearns fight is his greatest fight.
