This is listed. Does anyone have any info?
A strange decision maybe? Fisher is a big lug in the Makmudhov mould and has been attracting a bit of attention with his aggressive game and power. but hasn't had a fight since the armstrong. why?

Yes I had noticed it. Im guessing Johnny needs a bit more ring time so i expect him to be put in with a 'reasonable' Yank out in vegas.......... maybe Joey Dawejko or Kingpin (blunt-pin/rolling pin)would fit the bill.

Yeah the win vs Armstrong wasn’t exactly one way traffic so i expected a short break.

Hopefully we get a name soon tho but honestly I expect the Essex mob that’s on the card to have a bunch of Nevada cans to be named as opponents in the last week. The rest of the card is set tho which is better than I expected as I thought it would be almost everyone’s opponents named at the last.

Tibbs was talking about it but didn't give anything away about opponent. Dawejko be a good fight. He still has some ambition left.

Surely they won’t risk him against Dawejko?

I’m expecting someone outside the boxrec top 150.

don't think it will be Joey, he has a fight tonight for a WBC fringe title.

I expect a very soft touch.

-coming off a busted hand and a bit of inactivity for his standard.

-USA debut (thats a good enough reason for a very soft touch, so much to deal with for a young guy, just wanna get him through the new experence without having a tough fight to deal with too..)

-I think they might wanna get him on a saudi card which would require a quick turn around so it would have to be an easy fight...

Even 150-200 I think is optimistic. Look at the Americans ranked there. The few I looked at had high KO ratios and not a hell of a lot of defeats.

Turns out it aint an American he's facing. But it is an undoubted Ko win. It's the Ukrainian chap that Dave Adeleye knocked out in 2, Dmytro Bezus.

To be fair I did warn everyone I was expecting crap but I did at least expect crap that was 'unknown' meaning none of us would actually have seen just how crap he really was.

Fisher isn't good enough to win a genuine area belt

Generates a lot of money, he won't be risked

Being the best in the Southern area barring the fighters who have gone past that level.
There are probably half a dozen fighters below British title level in the Southern area who would beat him at the mo.
However he got a hand picked fighter for his title shot.

And here lies the answer why British fighters get starched when they step up for real

Tommy Welch
David Adelybe
Dillian Whyte has never won a Brit title
I'm not sure he would beat Danny Williams
Itauma
Harvey Dykes
Jeamie Tshikeva

whyte in southern area title convos is lol. especially when you specified fighters below british title level

tshiveka barely beat the guy fisher ko'd for the title. much less convincing than fisher was and then just got beaten up by a nobody.

dykes has only won 2 fights, both vs randos, and showed 0 power doing it. maybe he develops into something nice, but cant put him ahead of fish yet

welch/adelye.......maybe theyd beat fish, id give fisher a good chance vs both though

moses talented but has more cans to crush until he's too old for the 'next youngest champ' thing

only one fighter there is clearly any ahead of fisher, and he aint gonna be fighting for a southern area

Not every fighter has the same background so given how little amateur experience Fisher’s had I don’t mind him fighting Bezus next.

Fisher does need to be fighting more regularly though.

To be fair to Fisher he’s out in Vegas now clearly paying a lot of money for a camp with American coaches in decent facilities. I’d like to see a defence of the southern area but at the end of the day I think it’s gonna be super tough to find a challenger.

We’ve seen how far down the rankings Dacres had to go to get English title fights and defences (the Adeleye fight is a different case I know.) You almost have to have a title fight that’s also a final eliminator for the British.

Everyone would jump at the Fisher fight because it is a payday

hahahahaha the CW is a nice belt, you can be very bad and win it though.

I used to think the WBU was a major belt in early 00s.

Very hard to say with any certainty…

my guess would be he falls just short of brittish levle, I think he is well short now but given how young he is and how much opportunity he has should get close….

If his chin is really solid (probably a while befor we find out) he could win a brittish title one day.

I mean he is 24, 6”3 240 and tough with unlimited opportunity, if he stays in the gym and is disciplined between fights he could be really good in 8 years… but I think he likes food and fun too much, which is fair enough.
Opportunity,
