Sam Langford vs Tommy Burns

I've noticed that they never fought each other.
They were both Canadians. Both 5'7 and both had Very Mesomorph body-type builds.
Both had Very Legit Knockout Power. Both had great punch resilience as well. And great conditioning.
I'm puzzled as to why they never fought each other.
I'll have to re-check, but I'm pretty certain that Burns was only slightly older.
Even though he did fight on until 1922, Burns basically went into A definitive form of obscurity after the loss to Jack Johnson in 1908. Langford seemed to be just entering his prime around 1908. Burns took a year and A half off after the bout with Jack Johnson. Langford weighed in at 165 lbs in a bout versus Joe Jeannette in 1908. Burns weighed in at 180 versus Johnson in 1908.
Once again, imo, It Really is puzzling that they never made this bout.
I think it would've been a very competitive goes either way type of matchup.
Langford had quite a few Draws on his pro boxing career record. I think that Burns would've been another Draw on Langford's record. Burns was too much of a Bull for Langford to put away. It would've been a sensational Brawl I think. And the judges wouldn't be able to determine who got the better of who.
