Ben must think he’s Don King with these cash payments.
It probably won’t amount to much in the short term but when you’ve got unexplained cash payments and the man who was responsible for one of the biggest spot fixing examples in the last 20 years being involved, it’s a really bad look for Boxxer and Sky Sports.
I can’t imagine Sky will be happy with it which may impact things when it comes round to the end of Boxxer’s contract and Sky will make a decision about whether to stay involved with boxing.

This will be big trouble, BIG trouble if it's true.

amazing, not in a good way. Let's hope this puts a nail in Shalom's coffin, so the grown ups can get back involved. He's pulled 2 fighters out of purse bids with embarrasing results, got himself recorded squirming on phone to BJS, and now this.

It’s certainly a strange one. The best case for Boxxer is they’ve been asked to pay in cash so the recipient doesn’t have to get the tax man involved. Maz has already served time for going out of his way to avoid tax.

SKY won't want any bad publicity so if this is true Shalom could be in a mess , god knows why he is dealing with someone like Majeed anyway

I think their contract has few years left though, but if this is dodgy couldn't they take boxxer to court and cut ties?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. SKY should have gone with Wasserman.

Shalom will argue that he’s only dealing with Majeed as he’s been asked to from the fighters he works with. He’s in a tough situation. That doesn’t change the fact that Shalom shouldn’t have lied about it and pay him cash.
If there’s a bad call (decision/early stoppage) in the Buatsi fight then people will be making links to corruption. Cash payments to probably one of the most high profile sports fixers in the last 20 years isn’t a good look for anyone.

There’s 18 months left. Sky are reportedly paying £8m a year for it but considering Shalom doesn’t have any contracted PPV level fighters, he’s got a big 12 months ahead to get his fighters at that level and improve things.

Mmmm , Unprofesional YES, Looks dodgy YES , going to raise a few eyebrows CERTAINLY . But is it illigal , not to my knoledge unless the laws in Britain are different to over here .
This fella i believe manages a few boxers , if they gave Boxxer a invoice and Boxxer paid by cash , nothing illigal there , unless its not gone through the books , but if invoices , and recipts are all on hand and everything is declared to the taxman , vat man ect ect , nothing really illigal about it is there , and just the answer , i paid my fighters out in cash , heres the invoices for payment theres the recipts they signed for it will suffice after all cash sign on fee's parents bought houses , cars being gifted , have been the norm in sports for a long time.
Over here EVERY single bank transaction over 5 grand has to be reported to the govt ,

Good point. I don’t think she’s a PPV fighter in her own right but given the right opponent? Definitely. Her against Raven Chapman or Skye Nicholson are monster fights.

Yep. Nothing illegal at all about it as you say.
It’s just a bad look at best for all involved as it involves someone who was heavily involved in spot fixing and went to prison for it.

Karriss Artingstall vs Raven Chapman is a "monster" PPV fight in the UK right now? Wow.

Ben was negotiating something with Billy Joe but must have reneged on something so Billy Joe recorded Ben saying that Sky, the company who pay him c.£8m a year, had f**ked him and then leaked the recording.
I can’t find the video in full any more (I’d imagine Shalom got things taken down) but you can hear part of it at the start of this.

I’m hearing a lot of noise about this, but outside of the headlines about them dealing with an ex crook (which is laughable when considering this is boxing) I’m scratching my head to try to understand what the crime is supposed to be.. There is nothing illegal about paying an agent in cash, as long as you have receipts/accounting documentation to prove it’s not some kind of tax violation or money laundering etc.
It’s down to the other party what they do with that money- not boxxer.
This fellow appears to have been Buatsi etc agent, so again what have Boxxer done wrong in dealing with this guy…
This all seems like a nothing burger, unless something else more substantial os about to come out

Eddie Hearn is many things but he ain't daft, if he's willing to sue Boxxer and Sky I'll put my mortgage on him winning
Why Sky would give control of boxing to an inexperienced guy in his mid 20s is braindead, no surprise he's fumbled the bag, feel a bit sorry on him now tbh but like an ill dog he needs put out his misery
