15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

At their best, Max Baer would wear Weaver down with jabs and body punches before he knocks him out with a big right hand in 5 rounds. If Weaver face Baer who was clowning his World Heavyweight Title away to James J. Braddock, then Weaver would have a chance to use his own jabs, punches on the body and head to take a decision since Baer had an iron chin. What do you guys think and who do you got?

If were talking about the Baer who lost to Jimmy Braddock, then yeah, I could see Weaver beating him. I'd say Hercules wins a decision.

But just to be fair, I'll admit I haven't studied Baer's films extensively. Would he have done well against the heavyweights of the 1970s through 2024 period?

Baer was inconsistent. He had a lot power and great chin. Sometimes he was aggressive, but once in a while he was almost listless. Would not done well against the great hws of the 1970s. Probably would have been at the bottom of the top 10 for several years. In the 1980s, would have not have beaten Holmes or Tyson, but probably could have won a WBA title. In the 1990s, he again would not have been able to beat the top few guys. In the last 20 years or so, he would have done very well.
