I guess, some might remember that Hopkins was flirting with a possibility of a move to heavyweight and taking on Maskaev. That was soon after Maskaev won the WBC belt from Rahman. Golden Boy Promotions were in brief negotiations with Maskaev people, but no agreement was reached.

Hopkins was looking to, once again, use services of Mackey Shilstone (who prepared B-Hop for a jump to LHW for a Tarver bout) and jump to HW.

Could Hopkins repeat success of Roy Jones and James Toney and grab a belt at HW against Maskaev?
