Hi Guys,

I'm a huge boxing fan and researcher. I have some questions/misunderstandings of the Ring Magazine title reigns in the heavyweight division:
I actually want to know when the Ring Magazine discontinued its championship policy in the 1990's and when exactly it started again,
I've found different sources (wikipedia, boxrec and others, what the title reigns are slightly different)

This are the title reigns I'm interested in:

Mike Tyson: 27 June 1988 - 31 Dec 1989, it says: New ownership discontinued the championship policy during Tyson's reign, (source wikipedia English)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_T ... _champions

Mike Tyson: 27 June 1988 - 11 Feb 1990 (source wikipedia German) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der ... s_The_Ring

Mike Tyson: 27 June 1988 - 11 Feb 1990 (source boxing fandom)
James Douglas: 11 Feb. 1990 - 25 Oct. 1990
Evander Holyfield: 25 Oct. 1990. - ??? Oct. 1990, it says: discontinued championship policy during Holyfield's reign,
https://boxing.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_ ... _champions

Lennox Lewis: 8 June 2002 - 6 February 2004 (that's what all these sources say, starting date differenciates.
According to my research I discovered that Lewis received his Ring Mag belt in 2000. He lost his Ring Mag title to Hasim Rahman on April 22, 2001 and regained it from Rahman on Nov. 17, 2001.
I've seen Ring Magazine covers/pictures of 2000 with Lewis Ring Mag belt
So what's true? When did Ring Mag reintroduce their title? In 2000?

Hasim Rahman: April 22, 2001 - Nov. 17, 2001 (his reign is no where listed, but I say pictures of Rahman with the Ring Mag belt: I saw a picture in Ring Mag., when Rahman was presented with his Ring Mag belt in July 2001 by Nigel Collins)

the annual ratings:
https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/The_R ... ght--1980s
https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/The_R ... ght--1990s
https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/The_R ... ght--2000s

monthly ring mag rankings would be helpful, can't find them anywhere for those decades!

Can anybody clear that up?

Thanks a lot, best Regards

Daniel

Not sure but wasn't George Foreman the Ring HW champ when he became lineal champ?

I think they track with the lineal champion through the 90s, whatever their policy
