There was a chatter about this fight several years ago and Arum/Top Rank were flirting with an idea of actually making it happen. I think, it was 2018. Loma just beat Linares and Pac beat Matthysse. The plan was to make them face in-between at 140lbs, in what most likely would've been a non-title bout.

Pac was vocal that he's still able to make 140 and that cutting some weight won't be a problem. However, Loma's father said that 135lbs is Loma's celling.

Eventually, Team Loma turned the offer down. Soon afterwards Pac signed with PBC, while Loma went on to unify against Pedraza.

I clearly remember that, back then, the public was favouring Loma. He was the consensus P4P #1 after beating Linares for the lightweight championship. While Pac was up there in age.

Just a year later, the perception changed. Pac has turned back the clock against Broner and Thurman. While Loma had a string of fights in which he had certain struggles against bigger guys.

But what would've happened had he accepted the Pac fight?

If they had fought at 140 in 2018 then Lomachenko would've won easily.

If they had fought at 130 when both were at or near their best. I'm picking Pacquiao.
