As long as Green doesn't connect. Shavers beats him on either wide decision or late knockout.
But Green could stop the acorn if connects clean
But I would pick Shavers 9 out of 10 times

If Shavers connect clean on Green's chin with his big right hand, he would KO him in 4 rounds.

Shavers might would have to settle for a decision here. Green wasn't the greatest boxer, but he was tough and could take a shot.

I don't know if Mitch would be able to stop Shavers, but he'd probably be giving Shavers a hard time by the end of the bout because Shavers had a tendency to run out of gas.

I say Shavers wins by late round KO or decision in a competitive fight. Earnie's superior experience against top flight opponents, combined with his fast combination punching and crushing power would have made the difference between these two.

But Green might have had Shavers in trouble from time to time, much as Roy Williams did in 1976. Green definitely had the durability, size, strength, and skill to hang in there with Earnie over the long run.
