He beat Tito. That's a very impressive record, especially when you see he has a lot of losses early in his career but very few recently.

Interesting that Hurtado beat him.... always liked Hurtado who somewhat under achieved as a pro....

and who is the guy who beat him at cuban championships in 2002......

Very impressive. I thought the Gonzalez who beat him might have grown into the 175lb pro, but he's Mexican-American. The two wins over the Puerto Rican pro's are highlights (for the non-amatuer connoisseur) - beat Trinidad and outclassed Cotto.

I also think Hurtado underachieved, knockout. His first two stoppage losses were really devastating, each in their own way. In the first he is pounded into unconsciousness out of the ring, then in the second he is out-punched big style by Tszyu: being made to sit, paralyzed by a body shot, aware he has just been completely beaten by a smaller man. How the hell are you meant to get momentum back after two high-profile defeats like that?

Hurtado was undefeated and beating Sweat Pea silly until Whitaker caught him on the ropes and Hurtado was the victim of 1 of the worst knockouts I've seen (should of been stopped far earlier), Hurtado was completely knocked out been held up by the ropesand still got hit about 5more times, very nasty.

It's an error...Kindelan beat Rencise Perez 5-0...not the other way around.

Regarding Julio Gonzalez...he also holds a win over Kostya Tszyu...and a 2-1 decision loss to Oscar De La Hoya.

Maybe not but he did deserve the decision against Oscar in his next fight

Tua was upright at the end but didnt have a clue where he was... of course he was still a teenager at the time


as we all know Savon won an record equalling 3 gold medals (92, 96, 2000).

But if you look at his record he easily beat Ray Mercer in 1988... of course Mercer went on to win gold and poor old Savon stayed at home as Cuba boycotted the games.

So it is highly likely Savon would have won the gold in 1988 aswell given the chance... imagine that 4 consecutive gold medals....

Stevenson could have won four golds as well had Cuba not boycotted the Los Angeles Olympics. He beat Tyrell Biggs twice and even knocked him out.

gotta feel sorry for athletes who missed out on olympic glory due to boycotts...

a number of americans (such as Ed Moses in 1980)

many communist athletes in 1984 ( marita Kock and Jarmila K were unstoppable)

Sotamayor and Savon in 1988.....

all pretty much CERTAINTIES for gold medals....
