this guy is good, IMO he has also a win over Kindelan. same calibre as Sidorenko.

you are right, forgot he beat Kindelan 1999.... i would say he is a notch above Sidorenko...

anyone see his fight with M'baye?? scoring seems a little odd.....was he jobbed??

Shame though that Witter isn't getting the big names. However, if he keeps busy against the level of opponent he's been fighting lately, he'll be in prime form when he finally gets a big opponent.

Never seem him fight, how do you see it going?

Fights like this is what Witter needs. Gradually building his ring experience against fighters he can beat and improving himself as a result so he'll be better when he does challenege for world honours.

the irony is, no name guys like this are actually better than the Vince Phillips, Ben Tackies of the world who were once good but are now past it......

which is why you gotta give more respect to the EBU title than the WBU title....WBU you can basically choose your opponent...

M'Baye is a classy operator himself, arguably best in Europe now....

They want to keep Witter away from Gatti as long as possible, if he loses to mayweather, then perhaps Witter will get a chance somewhere down the line, but the WBC have no intention of letting Witter get there and wreck the chances of a megafight.

Branco should be removed from his position.

I think I had it 8-4 or 7-5 for M'Baye.

Is Witter really "The Man". His record doesn´t turn me on. Are you sure he will win vs Kotelnik?

Well, thus far, since the Judah fight, every European opponent he has faced has got done up like a kipper. Bienias, Battaglia and Lauri didn't even last 6 full rounds between them....

N'dou took a pasting over the early part of the fight, and was beaten pretty convincingly, despite some mid-late round stutters.

Witter is definetly way too good for B Grade opposition, and in my opinion is at least B+ to A- class himself. Whether he has that Grade A substance remains to be seen, but he's probably the hardest hitting man in the division after Tszyu.

but he has no fight vs a top 15 boxer (boxrec-ranking). is he better than Urkal?

No it isn't, he ran Tszyu close, should have had the verdict vs Harris in fight 1 and beat Eamomn Magee. That for me indicates proven world class (by some distance) its only now Witter has stepped into that plate. Not a forgone conclusion even if it happens now.

damn Lirva, you need to see more of Urkal, as Stu says he ran Tszyu very close, 3 points i believe... and had Kosta hurt in the 10th.

He had a great chin, great movement and great stamina, no way Witter would have took him out and he fought hard for 12 rounds and was a very good boxer.... that looks like a points defeat for Witter.

A lot of people had him winning the 1st Harris fight and he must have been doing something to Magee as he finished with his eye practically closed.... Magee has never marked up like that before or after.....
