Inspired by yesterday's heated press-conference for Alvarez-Munguia 🙂.

De La Hoya - Canelo fight (or Canelo - De La Hoya, if you wish) would've been realistic only at 154. At 160 - max.

Let's take Canelo from the Trout fight and Oscar from the Vargas fight.

How it goes?

At 154 Oscar by decision
At 160 Canelo by UD or late TKO.

I agree Oscar close decision at 154
At 160 or 168 Canelo destroys Oscar for a 7th round knockout.

Oscar would have the advantage of having more big fight experience as a 154 pounder because they were at different phases of their career by then, so that definitely makes it the most interesting meeting place for them. With Canelo I'd assume never really being at his strongest due to the weight cut to make 154 in the first place. Oscar may well edge the decision here, though I'm not confident Canelo couldn't pull it out.

At 160 or above Canelo knocks him out, and probably dominates him on the way to doing it.
