The WBC title has been recovered. It is once again whole. I was not clear in my "No Unifications during the MDT" statement and did not perhaps properly clarify the WBC situation in my "unification" definition. My "Unifications" statement was meant specifically regarding separate sanctioning bodies. Though I did not use that terminology. I see where the confusion lies. And I have sent Bob Foster flowers for my lack of clarity. The WBC will require one, maybe two mandatories at the end of the MDT to bring it to full balance.

These two halves of the WBC came together as result of happenstance. And to all but Foster and his entourage, it is likely being celebrated.

Jimmy Battling Bivens who just lost the IBF title is licking his wounds as well, and would like to take this opportunity to Knock out the other "Title Loser". This would help Jimmy feel better about himself in the wake of all the losses suffered during the MDT.

I'm on Buzz's side here. We may have said no title unifications during the MDT but common sense has to prevail when by happen stance the WBC's two half champs met for the championship.
Common sense says the winner becomes the full WBC champion, and the loser does not keep his half title. The MDT was always likely to throw this situation up.

Speaking of throwing up....that's exactly what happened when Bivins met Hopkins...he went in sick....the ropes were too loose, the ref was bias, he was sick going in, and his love life was falling apart. But if not for corrupt judges...he would have won.
