I think Canelo is getting past of his prime and he needs to give us one last big hurray before he'd hang up his gloves.

This version of Canelo would get whooped by the version of GGG form their 1st fight from 2017.

There are 3 (kinda 2.5) big fights left for canelo I think.

-Benab at 168 undisputed

-Bivol 168 undisputed (if he wins 175 undisputed)

-Or undisputed 175 (whoever wins in beterb vs Bivol)

I will be happy with Charlo and Berlanga fights too

Mall recently talked about retiring, so no.
Doesn't seem like he is in a good state of mind.

I hope the WBC let's him keep his title, like they did with Fury. So he got enough time to think about it

He’s probably going to fight Edgar Berlanga now since he’s done with Munguía. Then two more bs fights in 2025 and call it quits afterwards.

Exactly, I'm sorry, but nobody wants to see those fights, as both are hand picked easy wins. Charlo is shot mentally and smaller, Berlango turned out to be not too good at all. At this stage of his career, if Canelo isn't trying to make meaningful, legacy defining fights (His last few definitely weren't), just retire.

At this point in his career. Every win, and every title defense is a meaningful addition to his legacy in my opinion. It'll be a shame if Benavidez doesn't wind up getting his chance, but I honestly think he'll have success in Boxing one way or another.

Hopefully Canelo vs Benavidez happens, but if Canelo just keeps racking up title defenses, that's not a minor accomplishment either. I mean f*ck the guy is near 20 years deep into his career as is. How many Legacy defining fights does it take before your Legacy has been defined?

Canelo knows damn well everyone expects him to get his ass kicked with this one, and he wants to get a nice payoff for a guaranteed ass whooping. I don't blame him

At 168, he may have a slight advantage of Benavidez being drained. Anything heavier than that I think Benavidez would win handily.

Realistically I only see canelo fighting bena with a hydration clause.

If he is going to do it this September is the perfect time… bena will have just been at 175 so 168 will be tough to make, add in a hydration clause and you got a weakened benab.

I hate this side of boxing and think that anything sanctioned at a weight by a sanctioning body should have zero weight stipulations in the contract other than that body’s standard as one’s buttttt if I am canelo I’m offering Benavidez bigg millions with a fucked rehydration clause and a confidentiality agreement…

Nobody. Benavidez, Morell, Bivol and Mbilli are all scheduled to fight. With Benavidez and Morell already moving up to light heavy.

Yup, it could be his strategy to enhance his boxing legacy. But I think this fight would get made bc im Benavidez is tailor made for Canelo, style-wise. Also Benavidez is not a stronger or a better puncher than Canelo. Bena's power is overrated.
His best stoppage was against a soft-hyped Andrade. He went 12 rounds with Gavril.

If you look at both guys resumes and wins , there is a very big gap between their performances. Benavidez would be another Munguia, Callum Smith or Plant type of win for Canelo.

I'd not like to see that because its just a way to 'cripple' your opponent. Its just enough that Bena would have to cut his weight down to 168.

That’s a possibility but probably not on Canelo’s mind. Apparently The Saudi’s want a Crawford-Canelo fight next year.

Canelo has had a wonderful career. He has locked himself into being a future first ballot hall of famer.
At this point of his career he will take the biggest money fights with the least resistance.
I do not blame him.
I believe his final fight will be next year vs Crawford
