OK ,,, the dust has settled everyone has time to agree and disagree about whatever went wrong who's the best , what ranking in all time boxing Fury /Usyk deserve and all the other associated bollocks and bullshit .

So its time for us , part time knobheads and internet experts to digest and say /ask what went wrong for Fury . Well i'll go first , for me it was very very simple , Fury did not and could not impose his will on Usyk , dispite being bigger , heavier , he still fought on the backfoot , now mid rnds Fury was a bit more aggressive had some success and won rnds because he was going forward ,

Why when your his size would you try to OUTBOX one of the best heavyweight boxers in recent times , For my money if Fury has any chance in a rematch he needs to negate Usyk by putting constant pressure on and simply going for the kill , , he shown he can hurt the smaller man yet chose to back of from him , hence allowing Usyk to set whatever distance he wanted . who's idea was that Loony John or Sugars , from what i've read it was Johns idea , does'nt matter who's idea but facts are that fight was 3/3rds , Furys only success coming in the 2nd /3rd when he went on the front foot

For my money Fury wants to beat him the only way is take it to him , and in the words of my old coach , if you can't outbox them , just simply smash em drag them into a fight and smash em , he was very eloquent with his words   But regardles its true , why try to outbox a better boxer

Couple posts from me , i'm bored got nothing on for a day or two

I don't really think Fury did anything wrong, he did really well, just got smacked in the face!

Maybe if he had have continued to box, without getting caught, he would have won on points.

So for the rematch, does he do the same again and just try and keep his defense tighter and showboat less?

He definitely needs to sort his corner out, I worry that in doing so that hid dad will be chief second.

Or does he change tactics? Wilder 2 seems the most obvious.

Or will Usyk have an answer to everything?

I really hope the rematch is made, and made soon, I think it will be another great fight.

When he started fornicating around, the game plan fell apart.

He does possess a winning strategy against Uysk, can he maintain it for 12 rounds. I doubt the broken nose helped.

Depends on how far out of shape he goes between now and the next time, not going to get any easier getting in shape for the next joust at his age.

Agree if its going to happen get it signed SOONER rather than Later , give him a couple weeks off then straight back into training , get in even better shape , then sort the corner out which really is just getting rid of his idiot dad , i'd get rid of Andy Lee has well , although i do think Andy is doing a great job with Parker and really knows his stuff i would be concerned he's too emotionaly involved , regards tactics , he already knows the way , he was succesful for a third of the fight , and that just means , what you just said , no showboating , tighter defence , but constant pressure , if Usyk seems to have any weakness , he does'nt like it when he's pressured and reciving hard body shots , he does have a tendency to complain and he was hurt a couple of times , but light jabs and outbox him is stupid tactics , backing up is silly , he already has perfect distancing why make it easier for him

Usyk doesn't usually punch with you. He's not a counter puncher in the truest sense of the word and we saw that in this fight. Even in the ninth round when he hurt Fury, it was after Fury stopped punching that he threw his 1-2. I think what you need is more output and minding yourself defensively after you've thrown. So he needs good head movement or to clinch after throwing which he did quite effectively a couple of times in the fight. From range Usyk was having problems and actually looking a bit one dimensional but Fury wasn't keep up the output. Usyk was also feinting a lot which was putting Fury off. I think constant changes in strategy so that Usyk doesn't adapt. Have a couple of rounds on the backfoot, then a couple of rounds front foot, then try to maul etc, mix it up constantly. Usyk is just the better fighter though. Fury hasn't got the best defence, movement or chin. I think Usyk always beats him anyway.

Don't get pushed back on to ropes.
Keep centre of ring
Plenty of fainting
Tap to head wack to body then back to head
DONT LISTEN TO DAD

I don't think Fury did anything wrong. He just fought a better fighter.

In a rematch though it probably would be to his advantage to come in heavier. I'd imagine his thinking in getting lighter was to increase his speed, but he's not gonna be able to match Usyk's speed in any case, and I think it'd probably benefit him more to maximize his size advantage with an extra 20 pounds or so.

It might still wind up resulting in the same outcome, but what the hell. It's worth a shot. If you're gonna rematch a guy you lost to, might as well come with a different gameplan.

Also, considering this is him trying to avenge a loss. In the rematch. He might wanna try for the first time in his life, to get through 12 rounds with absolutely zero showboating. This guy isn't a joke, and he shouldn't be playing games with him.

I have not rewatched the fight, this was my take viewing it live:

- his ringwalk bravado was not a sign of cinfidence

- Fury wanted to take centre ring, Usyk also, Usyk won that battle, Fury had to concede.

- his in-fight showboating was fake bravado, a lack of confidence rather the the confidence he wanted to portray

- he started to slow

- Fury came on and was busting him up around 5th and 6th rounds, there were moments when Usyk looked wobbled where Fury should have upped his output but did not do so

- In the 7th or 8th round Usyk landed a big left bang on Fury's nose. He seemed troubled by it after, i assumed his nose was broken. This punch changed the fight IMO.

- post fight press conference, Fury said going into the final rounds his corner kept telling him he was winning on the cards, meaning don't get over involved, you've already got this. Utter stupidity, the culprits deserve sacking for that advice. Had they told him going into the 11th you must win the last two rounds, maybe, just maybe, we could have seen a different result?

The fight was super close. For the rematch i'd like to see him ditch the fake bravado, start faster, work the jab more, go after Usyk if he can get him hurt, maintain sharp focus during 2nd half of the fight, drop the showboating altogether, and for sure he needs better corner advice between the rounds.

Usyks plan was genius.

1 Body shots early rounds.

2 Constant changing of levels, making Fury think and tiring him mentally and physically. Non stop pressure.

3 Come out with the big left hands from round 8 onwards when Fury is starting to tire.

The only really good adjustment Fury made was that right uppercut and some of the body work was good, other than that he got outworked by a superior boxer. Fury might do better by making it a dirtier fight/using clinches and leaning down on him, sneak shot here or there.

Good post. For clarity though I reject the assertion that I may be a part time nobhead.

I am a full time nobhead.
