He has the guts BUT if Fury got 100+ M's to fight Usyk, then Canelo would want more.

Yes in Canelo's career he's taken on all comers. Questioning whether he has guts is stupid.

not talking about physical fear---but rather fear of losing. to his credit canelo fought bivol with no rehydration clause. he did have a 185 pound 2nd day weigh in for Kovalev. I'm hoping that if he fights DB or DM he doesn't demand a rehydration clause.

benavidez has made enough of a mark to be a guy canelo should fight, but morrell is a total can crusher. not put much pressure on canelo to fight him

Canelo has guts--he's though guys much bigger than him, numerus times.
I don'tmlike Canelo but it's not because of Canelo the fighter but because the judges are blatantly on his side and he pretty much goes into every fight with a 4 round head start on the cards. They were DESPERATE to give the Bivol fight to Canelo, but Bivol whooped him so bad even the corrupt judges couldn't spin it.

The judges having him ahead at the start of the fight is a fair criticism, but I don't know that you can blame the fighter for that as much as you can blame the system. He's a cash cow, and the big Boxing cities like to protect the cash cow. It just kinda comes with the territory.

Canelo wants to fight bigger guys as long as he can take away their strengths before the fight. He will weight drain them to give himself the advantage.
Was willing to face Callum Smith who was bigger than Benavidez but not Benavidez.
He chose an old Kovalev knowing he was past it then didn't defend at LHW because he know the other guys were too big or younger.
Chose a third fight against Golovkin knowing he was past it.
He chose Bivol over Beterbiev, naively thinking the smaller man would be easier.
He was even targeting Badou Jack at one point because Jack had picked up a cruiserweight belt. Beating a bulked up super middle instead of a proper cruiserweight was his only shot to a belt there and he knew it.
He faced the smaller Charlo from a lower weightclass.
He faced Munguía instead of Benavidez...
He's a great fighter and has guts in the ring but he's a drug cheat and cherry picker outside of it.

Very harsh on Canelo.
He has enough quality names on his fight record to overlook any cherry picking he may be doing now at the very end of his career.
He is still fighting quality fighters - no novice MMA guys lined up .. yet

canelo is a very good fighter but can you ever imagine the likes of DURAN ever asking for a catchweight and/or a rehydration clause? he gave iran barkley 9 years and 6 inches in height & then took the 160 pound title from BARKLEY---no catchweight,no rehydration clause.

Different times and different options available.
Every boxer wants to win, and most take any advantage to get it.

We haven't seen any excuses needed to be made for Usyk or Inoue, as an example.

my guess is that morrell would take the fight right now. perhaps the SHIKH will make it happen in saudi.

This is what im saying. Benavidez is very loud about Alvarez, but very silent about Morrell. If people wanna call Alvarez duck, they should call Benavidez even bigger duck.

Then All Hail Turki! He really is keen to make great interesting fights! Money no problem.
Problem is Beterbiev is injured and old. I'd have no problem to see Benavidez vs Bivol! Bivol would be the "papi" of three mexican fighters; Canelo, Zurdo and maybe Bandera Roja! Viva Mr Turki, cabrones!

It still sours me on him though because it makes boxing a bit of an embarassment when Canelo's fights are more predetermined than WWE.
And everybody is content to ignore it--the broadcasters, the governing bodies, other fighters, other promoters. I don't think any notable person in the sport has called out the fact Canelo always has the judges on his side and looked into why that is.
Whether its favoritism because Canelo makes money or, even more sinister, the judges getting paid off by somebody (whether Canelo's team or criminals betting on Canelo)
The fact it has happened so often, and even the Bivol fight somehow ended up being a robbery despite Canelo losing, means there really should be an investigation as to whether the judges took a backhander.

Morrel won’t have earnt it by the time canelo is proper sliding. So doubt he gets it unless he beats benivedez.
Benivedez has earnt it but fornicate he left that late, and now is fighting up a weight so who knows if he will make 168 again…
Canelo has benivedez, and Bivol/beterb left to fight legacy wise, the rest are just a bit of cash until they get a really noteworthy win. Craw is the exception to the rule where I have no idea how canelo vs craw 2025 would be viewed looking back on it in 2035…
