David Tua returns Thursday against Talmidge Griffis who says he cant wait to take on the Tuaman. An Aussie court have said any proceeds from the fight or Tua should be paid to a court-appointed accountant because of the legal dispute between Pugh and Barry and David Tua.
Hopefully Tua who seems in themood will restore some excitement to the divsion. And with Aussie Jeff Fenech now training Tyson what odds a fight between them coming off...albeit 7 years too late. I'd still pay to see it

If Tua is in great shape and full of determination to win a world title then he may well be an exciting addition to todays Heavyeight muddle.

However if its the out of shape, slow plodding Tua than he will just further muddy the waters of todays Heavyweight mess.

Great weight he could come down about 10 more but he was for a fact 320 last November so that shows he has got serious about this

He doesn't look terrible but he could drop a stone, still resembles the Michelin man a bit too much.

when one of those left hooks land its nighty night... he could probably take a title tomorrow night suh is the state of the HW division

He will not take a title until he gets down to 230.

thats the worse physical shape i have seen Tua in... he obviously got very heavy and cut quite quick and looks pretty loose..

Aren't Polynesians like Tua built massive though anyway? So it might be hard for him to get to 230.

Tua was at 220-230 for most of his career before he got heavy. He could get there again I am sure.

Tua is little more than a profile distraction looking for pay-days.

And if you need evidence of that, take a look at the pictures above.

He looks like a 40 year old guy in decent shape - not a 32 year old heavyweight contender.

Even in today's division he'll need more than a lumbering left-hook to secure a title.

He'll need conditioning, speed and motivation. I dont think he has any of those three.

He'll always have a punchers chance.....of course. But then so would Foreman and he's 55.

Full of sausages and bacon by the looks of things. What is it with heavyweights now days? It's their jobs, why can't they stay in semi decent shape?

he's dropped form 320 to the 250 he is now, im sure with time he'll drop down lower again 235 maybe...

235 is just a number. He needs to be lighter and well conditioned at the same time.

With his lack of height and reach, Tua needs to be able to fight like Joe Frazier did, ie: at a high tempo.

To beat someone like Klitschko, Tua needs to be as fit as Frazier was in 1971.

Can he get as fit as that.

good point... i dont think tua can ever beat vit, he can however take brewster and maybe in time byrd or ruiz/toney

He needs to be as light and as fit as he was when he fought Ibeabuchi. Still possible if he really dedicates himself.

A big left hook and iron chin might well be enough to win the heavyweight title these days but I would hate to see a repeat performance from Tua similar to the one against Lewis where he got jabbed all night before jumping in with wild swings the odd time and missing by a couple of foot.

Tua's performance against Lewis was one of the biggest dissapointments in moder HW Boxing.

I have to disagree. I don't think it was Tua's performance that was disappointing, but Lewis' whose was exemplary. He did not allow Tua to use any of the positives he had.

many people think of this as a dull fight. I watched it again recently and, in fact, it is a bit of a master class from Lewis.

You have to give credit to Lewis also who kept him at distance. Also Tua was 245 for that fight, he's never put in a good performance with that much weight on.

that is wrong, you can tell by the pic that 251 is the right weight

Definately looks heavier though.
